    Not up to LG par

Got as Xmas present for wife, replacement for LG F3 that had worn out after 2 years. While the larger size, increased memory, and Android 5.1 are improvements, overall this phone is not nearly as well made as its LG predecessors. The camera lacks autofocus, which limited some apps that she could use. All soft keys interface did away with notification light. Included charger will not charge phone after one week. The screen broke on the first two foot drop. LG Optimus F3 was a much better piece of hardware, despite memory and software limitations.

I got this phone for $20 on Black Friday at Best Buy. Strictly using this phone for text/calls/web. It's perfect for my teenage daughter, but it's definitely a lower end smart phone.

Slim enough to fit in my pocket, not heavy at all. Used it as a MP3 player, great sound, excellent Bluetooth, price is also cheap and affordable.

Was looking for an inexpensive replacement for my not so smart phone that was run over by a car. Needed it quick - and desired a phone that was fairly simple and had enough memory to do the job. This phone fits that too a T. Do not like the fact that the extra chip I put in it to expand the available memory is almost impossible to use - I was assured the extra $12 dollars would work fine - it doesn't, lots of extra work to get things to load onto the sd card instead of using the available phone memory.

    DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE

A few weeks ago i purchased one of these for myself. I liked the 8gb memory and although the phone doesnt have an autofocus feature for the camera, it is a good phone. I liked it so much that my wife wanted me to get one for her, so i did. THIS WAS MY FIRST MISTAKE. Let me explain... The first one came and i signed up with ringplus.net (they have a free plan that gives you cell phone service with 150 mins a month, 50 mb of data and 50sms for free) which is what i wanted to do with the one i was getting for my wife. Here in lies the problem.... EVEN THOUGH bestbuy lists the phone as an unlocked/no contract phone, MOST OF THEM ARE NOT UNLOCKED. The way that i found out is when i tried to sign up the second phone, ringplus was giving me an error. So. i went to Ting.com and looked up the phone to see what was happening. Ting.com told me that the phone has an outstanding balance with sprint and until its unlocked via sprint (by the former owner) there is no way to use it. With this information in hand, i contacted bestbuy. The lady was nice and reshipped the phone, telling me that they would also send return labels for the phone in the mail (since i dont have a printer). Insert 2 days extra wait here for next day air shipment to arrive. Ok.. so the second phone arrives and i check the packaging very carefully against my orginal phone and against the phone i recieved a few days earlier.. They are all virtually identical excpet for the numbers on the bottom of the pack that identify the phone. The ESN numbers etc. Opening it up, i tried once again to sign up for ringplus.net with it, and it in no way would accept it. Going to Ting.com, it gave me the exact same error... There is an outstanding balance with spring and until that is settled, you cannot use this phone. Furious.. i called virgin mobile... and they were absolutly no help at all... the guy barely spoke any english and i could not even get him to let me talk to tech support to get them to look up the esn to see if the phone had actually been used before. I called Sprint... the lady there was kind and looked up the phone.. she said that they had no record of it ever being used on the network and told me that i needed to call bestbuy and see what was going on.. she suggested that it sounded to her like someone in the warehouse was doing something with the phones that they shouldnt... removing sims or changing them somehow before they were shipped. I called best buy and spoke to a few reps. The last guy finally understood what i was complaining about and after being on the phone with him for over four hours, we couldnt figure out anything. He eventually called virgin mobile and the guy there said that the problem was that the phone was NOT unlocked and was locked to the virgin mobile network.. and would ONLY work with virgin mobile. So, i asked maybe it was a fluke.. since the very first one i ordered a month before worked great. Could they please ship me another and i would try again.. The rep demanded that i return the first two. I have no problem with that... and asked him to please mail me (snail mail) a return label for the second one as the lady had told me she was doing for the first phone... and the guy tells me that they ONLY mail out return labels via email... not regular mail. So.. here is the summary 1. i recieved the first phone that was unlocked/no contract and it works flawlessly with ringplus 2 second phone did NOT work with ringplus, is not unlocked and is NOT a no contact phone because the guy at virgin mobile and best buy said that i would have to sign up for a YEAR to get it unlocked, which is NOT going to happen. 3 the third phone did not work with ringplus either, is not unlocked/no contract etc To top it all off.. the lady that reordered the phone didnt reorder the phone for me... she reordered the MICROSD card that i had purchased with it.. so i had to wait an extra day for that... now i have two phones and two micro sd cards sitting here that i have to wait to send back whenever they mail me a return lable (via email). DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES buy this phone if you are looking for an unlocked/no contact phone. I pointed out to the bestbuy rep also that their website still has it listed as no contract/unlocked phone and... get this..... it went from 29,99 to 49.99 in 1 week... and is on sale now 10 dollars off for 39.99 This is the WORST time i have ever had with anything i have ever gotten from best buy. They didn't even offer any customer satisfaction after everything that has happened and after sitting on the phone with their tech suppot guy for almost five hours other than, send them back and we will refund your money. i would rate this ZERO stars if i could. PERIOD

    An iPhone it ain't...

Got this phone because I lost my beloved iPhone 4. At best, it's OK. I didn't expect an iPhone for the price, but no auto-focus in the camera. Are you kidding me? 8 gb storage...nope...only 3.4 gb usable. If all you want to do is make calls, don't mind an "instamatic" camera and just want to add a couple of apps...this is a great low cost phone. For me, It'll suffice until I find a great deal on a new iPhone.

    Hardware downgrade

My original Tribute 1 literally fell two floors onto a parking garage concrete floor and seemed to explode apart - but still worked(!) even with a cracked screen. But the orginal's 4gb limit's annoying "not enough memory for system update" notices, and crippled software performances made me want to "upgrade" to the 8gb Tribute 2 - which seemed to have decent enough ratings mention at review sites. While the 8gb has the new OS show somewhat smoother performance, the packaging leaves a lot to be desired: the case seems flimsier; the speaker tinty; and the awkward, back-centered vol. and on-off button are a pain to reach for; and the camera is totally, totally abysmal - it could pass for a .5 mp flip phone camera. I'd recommend more research before upgrading your old phone.

Purchased this to use with RingPlus service (Free), and it delivers. Great LTE speed in Sprint covered areas. Obviously it is not tremendously fast, and the screen is on the smaller side, but for the price it is hard to imagine anything better.

While this is an upgrade from my previous phone, there's been some issues. First, the camera doesn't seem to focus very well. Second, having the buttons on the back means I constantly touch the camera lense and have to be EXTRA careful when setting the phone down. Lastly, I'm not sure if this is just my phone, but a bottom corner of the screen has started to pop up. All in all, this will probably be a temporary phone for me.

I've used this phone for quite a while now. For the price your paying, you are getting a good phone. Like pretty much all budget smart phones you are not getting a lot of memory on this phone so if you download a lot of apps I don't recommend this phone. But if you talk and text and surf the web as your primary phone function then this phone will not disappoint you.

    Reliable & Durable Phone

I've had this phone for 15 months. It has been a work horse. I'm a heavy call/text user for business. Never let me down. I've dropped it on hard floors/cement at least 10 times and screen is still in tact. I dropped it in the commode at LAX and it was dry & working by the time I got home. This is a reliable & durable phone. Not for gamers because of the memory/SD Card limitations. Highly recommend.
