It's a sound bar. I use the optical audio connection because it happens to be free on my television. Works flawlessly. Sounds perfectly acceptable for the price. For me it's just about getting louder, clearer sound than the discount speakers in the discount TV I have it attached to. If you want something high end, this isn't it, but it's also not priced to match blows with something from Bose, either. For the price, it's probably the best in class.

We use this sound bar for our outdoor tv. Before I review this soundbar let me say, although this soundbar permanently stay outdoors, we do have a water proof enclosure! This soundbar is not the loudest, but for the price u can’t beat it! Never once had connection issues, we have it paired with our Vizio tv. If you want a cheap soundbar, good sound, you can’t go wrong especially with the price!

This thing is "Tha Bomb" - It definitely makes a difference once you hook it up - I've read some reviews where people poo poo the Bass aspect of the unit, but I'm not sure what they were expecting (Sonic Boom?) - It will make the windows rattle in a battle scene... and the sound is crystal clear - For the money, this thing is an awesome, affordable option to add to your movie experience - I love it - Robert C

Bought this sound bar enhance the overall sound quality off a recently purchased 30 inch tv. We were limited on space so needed something small. This fit the bill. I was worried about a cheap tinny sound you get with other small sound bars especially without a woofer but this was not the case. It has good sound and good bass. Perfect for a spare room tv.

I needed a 'sound system' for an office TV and didn't have a lot of room. Quality of sound is important to me and I listened to nearly a dozen sound bars and kept coming back to this one. Great sound, takes up little space, Bluetooth capability, great price (for a secondary sound unit)! Set up in minutes. Very happy with this purchase!!

I purchased a new TV and also this Vizio 2.0 Soundbar. I had a larger one but it didn't really fit in the hutch with the TV so I purchased this smaller one. Of course the sound quality is not the same as the larger one. There were some glitches with the setup in that when I would switch over to watch Netflix or Prime, the sound bar would tell me it wasn't compatible. So I have to turn off the sound bar and use the TV sound to watch Netflix and Prime and some blu rays. I have it set up with a digital optical cable. I'm sure it's something in the settings. It was working fine when I first set it up, then it started telling me it was incompatible. Still looking into it. For the price it's good.

After reading many reviews about sound bars we chose this one because it wasn't too expensive and everyone said it was pretty good and easy to set up...they were right. It makes it a lot easier to hear movie conversations on our tv and took next to no time to install.

Sound on my flat panel TV started sounding like everyone was under water. I was so worried that I would have to replace my entire TV, but decided to try this reasonably priced sound bar first. It connected very quickly and the sound was even better than my TV's original sound. The only inconvenience was adding yet another remote, but that's a minor inconvenience.

I've been using this soundbar every day since I bought it. At first, I felt VIZIO wouldn't make a good sound product because I've never heard of the company, but the sound is pretty decent and for the price, you really can't go wrong. Strangely, this soundbar sounds so much better than the fancy Samsung soundbar (with subwoofer) it replaced.

At this price point, best bang for your buck. We use the soundbar with our projector for outdoor movies. More than loud enough to accommodate a neighborhood driveway movie night! Quality of sound was surprisingly high, even for outdoor. I’d definitely recommend this for someone not looking to spend $1k on a high end system!

I purchased this because my TV only had one speaker and it was on the side and I had to turn TV up a lot to hear it. This made a huge difference in the sound and the volume is set real low and I can hear TV perfect. I set up according to directions but could not get sound to come out of bar I called Vizio support and they were great had it working in 10 mins there was a TV setting that had to be changed and was not in the instructions. Remote also did not work volume but turned on sound bar so Vizio sent new remote and had it in 2 days.

It’s good for the little bar that it is. I’ve noticed that while connected to Bluetooth device it cuts in and out. That could be my computer doing it or the sound bar. Not sure However it does deliver adequate sound for what I need it for. You get what you pay for. I am satisfied

Only issue is I now need 3 remotes to operate the TV. Sound quality is good Originally purchased an open box unit at a good price only to discover the power cord and instruction booklet was missing when I got it home. Returned and had to purchase another one at the current price.

A basic but great sounding sound bar. Much better than the built-in audio of our 55" Westinghouse HDTV. The only downside for me is the sound bar does not feature a COAX Digital In and I had to purchase a device from Best Buy for $30 that acts as a Toslink (Optical Digital) to COAX Digital converter.

This little soundbar has great sound. There is no hdmi connection on the unit. The only digital connection is optical. I think Vizio has more up to date products in the market. The size is great for a small tv.bluetooth was difficult to keep connected. User error? Lol

This is a very good sound bar and sounds great, bass is very good. I have it connected to a 40 inch Vizio TV in my bedroom. It really has a very good quality build. It makes the sound come to life. If I could I would drop it at least a half star for the remote display not being backlit. Other wise very nice product.

Really makes anything sound fantastic! I've had other sound bars and this one sounds the best and was the easiest to set up.
