Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the picture quality, easy setup, price, and size of the TV. They appreciate the vibrant and clear display, user-friendly installation process, affordability, and suitable dimensions for their needs. However, customers are negative about the remote control, limited apps, speakers, durability, and volume. They express concerns about the small size and tiny buttons of the remote, the lack of a wider variety of apps, the desire for improved sound quality, issues with the durability of the screen, and the need for a louder volume.

    Only Downside is Apps

The picture and sound are quite good on this TV. I haven't had any sound issues so far, even at higher volumes. I also use this for Xbox and as a monitor for PC gaming and both work great. The only downside so far is the lack of apps. Some of the apps that are there are pretty old and clunky versions (such as for Hulu), and they run pretty slow. I just purchased a Fire TV to remedy this issue but it would be nice to have a better app selection right on the TV. Also, it doesn't seem to pick up any channels at all (other TVs in my home do but this one found none) so if you don't have cable an antenna is a must.

picture is great, everything else... not great

The picture is great, but the entire interface sucks. Every button you press has a long delay before responding causing lots of "dad clicking" and accidentally going into menus you don't want. It ONLY powers on to the hdmi input screen so if you don't have an antennae set up it always presents you with a bizarre error message. then you have to go to the late-80's looking smart tv menu which is slow, clunky, and only offers a few apps that are worth using along with several that no one wants (sorry Yahoo). And you can't add any extra apps. The SOUND. SUCKS. There is no option I can find for adjusting audio levels, and not even a selection for different audio modes like other tv's. The bass is way up on tiny speakers, so lots of shows are impossible to understand when people are speaking, and then max-out and rattle the whole housing with background music. The overall weighting of the tv is weird--wobbly legs, top-heavy set, feels unstable. All of this would be worth it but for the sound problems. I guess you're supposed to just add speakers, but for little tv's in this price range, I don't want to have to add tons of devices just for it to do a little better than what my laptop does. What's the point of a smart tv, if you have to watch everything through your tablet? for like 80 bucks less, you can get a roku tv that operates liquid-smooth, has several free apps that are worth having, is available to customize with 100's more apps, sounds super clear, lets you customize the picture, and is a super-light, contained unit that doesn't need any extra devices to run well. Only problem is they only come in 720p, so if you're closer than 10 feet it looks like you're watching a Van Gogh painting. If TCL made 1080p in this size they could charge $100 more and no one would outsell them.

    Great tv, great price

I bought my tv 2 weeks ago and have been completely satisfied! The set up was simple and connecting to my buildings wifi was simple as well. Crystal clear picture and the sound is great. I live in a studio apartment so its prefect for my space. I haven't felt the need to adjust any picture settings or sound settings. The only issue I've encountered was with the vizio support. I called late one evening as I couldn't get Netflix, Hulu or any other app to load and when I did it was constantly pausing and timing out. I reached support easily enough and explained the problem. I was told I needed to give the "account administrator" my Mac address because it was blocking my service. I questioned that because it had worked perfect for the first days. She told me That yes, it sometimes works for the first few days and then it will get blocked. That was about all she could tell me to do and seemed rushed to end the call. As it was late evening I didn't want to bother my apartment manager with the details of my Mac address or whatever so decided to just read for the rest of the evening. A little later I decided to try the tv again and it worked perfect again. Turns out that when too many people in my building are accessing the wifi at the same time it bogs it down and will affect the streaming. I didn't realize as this is my first experience with smart tvs, apartment living and shared wifi. So I'm not completely confident with the support team for that matter. Besides the slight inconvenience of slowed streaming when everyone is on Wi-Fi I love this tv.

Sharp vivid picture, great TV, great value!

I'm very pleased with this new Vizio 1080 32" TV. I use an over-the-air antenna to get the digital public broadcast channels, and that was super easy to set up. (Due to privacy concerns I don't plan to connect my TV to my wifi and stream Netflix on it.) The picture itself has a sharp and vivid eye-pop quality that I find impressive. I've read other reviews complaining about the sound quality, but mine sounds fine. I don't love the two leg stands, but the TV can stand on its own bottom base (though probably not recommended unless it'll be placed in a quiet area), or I can get a stand to fit the 100mm x 100mm mounting holes in the back. The menu interface, remote control, and other features like sleep timer all seem fine. I'm just very very happy with this purchase -- for the price, it's an excellent value! (But I may revisit this review after two years - we'll see if it breaks down then.)

I needed a TV for my home gym that could connect to my wifi so I could access my netflix programs while working out. This was an ideal TV to do the job at an reasonable price. Setup was very easy and only took a short time for it to be working. The quality of the picture and sound is very good for my needs.

Picture is great, stand is terrible

I now own a $200 pair of batteries after less than 1 week of having this tv. In the limited time I've had it, the picture quality was great, the sound was okay for a bedroom tv and the stand is absolute crap. I'm in an apartment without the capability of mounting the tv on the wall so I picked the 32" tv that looked like it might be the sturdiest base when I was at the store. Sadly I was wrong. The stand pieces are flimsy but easy to install with the screws provided. I have a pair of 10 month old kittens and one managed to knock the tv off my dresser and onto the floor. I positioned the tv specifically so this wouldn't happen so I was actually very surprised it tipped. The screen cracked in several places and the whole thing is now outside in the trash for pick up today - no way of salvaging it. I would only recommend this to a friend if they were mounting it or do not have any pets or people that tend to walk heavy that could cause this to tip - it was definitely more of a hazard than I thought. Obviously I'm thoroughly disappointed with the base quality, hence the 3 stars.

Great Picture, That's All I Can Say

As far as 32 inch TVs are concerned, this has one of the better pictures. However, picture isn't everything. It's ability to operate as a smart TV is horrible! I could not get any of the apps to work unless wired directly to the internet. It's capabilities of going wireless is the huge downfall of this TV. Every app I tried to open, I received a message saying "This site can/t be reached" (see photo) I also need to mention that it freezes up and shuts off. That's another huge issue. I could have a defective TV but after reading how this happen to other customers, I think not. I took it back and get a TLC Roku set. Huge improvement!

I purchased 2 of these to use as pc monitors for my wife and I. They work great nice 60hz refresh rate at 1080p and the response time in gaming mode is buttery smooth. I would strongly recommend these TVs for the price if you want to game or use it as a pc monitor.

You have to have the remote to even turn it on/off

I may have the model that is one year older and hopefully I am wrong about this by now. There is one, and only one little button that is like the world's most pitifully unusable joystick. This tiny switch was supposed to control the things that my LG TV has half a dozen buttons on the side for. Within two weeks, it didn't work for anything. This is annoying because you can't just walk past and turn it off or on. You have to find the remote to turn it on or off. It's a pretty good TV in other ways. In the bright side we seldom lose the remote for long. Purchased from another company.
