Clunky and slow

The TV freezes up often and we have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to respond. Has lots of features but we never seem to use many of the apps because the TV is so clunky and slow.

Good for a guest room

U’ll be more than disappointed- you’ll be angry. Remote is slow and the television freezes and you must reboot. Perhaps their higher end models are better - but not this series.

Slow, terrible internet connection

Almost daily I have to do a soft power cycle and reboot this tv to re establish the connection. And it’s the TV not my network. I got an Apple TV and there’s zero issue. It’s only when I use the smart tv functions on this model.

A great store with great people !

Went back to the store and complained to the department manager who was so concerned and courteous , but said they don’t have any stock in the store . He asked me if he could replace it with another brand equal in price and in quality . I said yes and I went home to pick up the Vizio, but my son said we have something similar cables and power cord that can be used. He assembled it and it ran , I called back Best buy and unfortunately the manager was busy but just the same I told the lady representative to extend my whole hearted thanks for the courteous service I have gotten from the department manager ! A great store with great people !!!

Posted .Hello drstancpa, Thank you for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you are looking for. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition or 4K signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD or 4K, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD or 4K picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room try Calibrated Dark.

Not A Good Purchase

The picture was not great - didn't even seem like 1080p, the remote was HORRIBLE with regards to responsiveness, many times having to hit a button multiple times to get a reaction on screen. Swapped batteries, got right next to the infrared receiver - no difference. The internet reception was poor, many times going into a buffering state. We have 400mb service, and the tv indicated the signal was top strength. All other devices had no issues with buffering. Even tested the service with almost nothing else using bandwidth as well as another TV about 5 feet away. Was so frustrating that I boxed it up and returned it. TV has a lot of good reviews so maybe I just got a lemon.

You will also have access to the full color calibration menu on this television for a more precise calibration. Worst

It ask to do updates and once you do them it says that it can’t be updated. They can’t even exchange it anymore. It sucks.

Get another TV

So, I was confident in getting the cheaper lines of TVs because of the quality I got from the TCL. When I wanted to get a smaller tv for my bedroom, I thought this would be a good one to get. Boy was I wrong. Firstly, out of the box, it took over forty minutes for it to download all the TV updates and it restarted itself three times. There is a huge lag time between the remote and the TV. I counted roughly 10-15 seconds per selection. The airplay is useless. If I went to another app on my phone, the airplay would straight up stop working. The YouTube app doesn’t even work. In sum, don’t even look at this tv. Go to TCL.

Waste of time and money

Bought it for in my home office. everything with this tv takes forever. Turn it on, wait 30 min for it to update. Wait 10 min to connect to WiFi. Wait 15 min for the screen to stop being black. The black screen issue happened repeatedly while watching tv, browsing apps, at power on. Going from app to app had a massive delay and there was at least a 10 second delay if you want to pause/ffw/rewind or play- super convenient if you miss something that was said and need to go back a smidge... 3 minutes of trying to get the tv to stop rewinding at warp speed later... you’re back at the start of the movie. Will stick with Insignia moving forward.

Horrible smart tv

I am not much of tv person unfortunately bedroom tv broke. Biggest mistake ever to select this TV. First issue you can't download additional application's to tv. Second Wi-Fi kept disconnecting I have very good internet speed. I have spectrum and have two signal speeds 2g and 5g. This is tv only can connect to 2g. I returned and got Samsung 8 series and amazing way better then this one

Picture freezes up

This could be because it was a best buy "certified" open box. The latency is somewhat slow too when bringing up streaming apps.

Bought less than 2 months ago and now it's broken

no way to set date & time - needs WIFI connection.
