After all the great reviews we bought this TV, got it home and discovered a static noise every time we changed the channel. Overall the quality of the unit matched the price, which was low. Thanks to Best Buy letting us return it (about an hr later) and exchanging it for a different television.

Great Picture Quality, but Missing Features

First off, I ordered the television on a Monday and had it delivered by UPS on Wednesday. The box came in great condition and there was no damage to the television. The picture quality is great, color reproduction and picture settings are ample and simple to change/fine-tune. I immediately turned off some of the overprocessing and sharpening to maintain the original picture quality from my digital sources. The UPnP DLNA interface is sparse but it is effective. I was able to stream 2160p videos I have been recording for the past few months and play them back with little or no effort via both USB and DLNA. There are however, two disappointing aspects to this otherwise fine and one feature oversight. Disappointment 1. Using the skip ahead function on my DVR as well as other sources leaves an annoying speaker/sound crackle which was not present on my previous television. This happens with the built in speakers as well as external. I'm sure this is something that can and will be fixed with a firmware update -- if enough users also experience this issue. 2. The HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel# does not support Dolby Digital output. It only supports PCM and bitstream. This is disappointing because external soundbars, stands which many users are adding on to even their basic home tv settings is required for multichannel audio -- 5.1. All the ARC capable speaker systems have DD5.1 processing and many also have DTS5.1 and require audio to enter in these formats in order to "shape the sound" coming from such small/thin devices. Unfortunately, the Samsung H600 soundstand I purchased to complement my new UHD TV does not support bitstream inputs and therefor I can not enjoy the CEC conveniences afforded by this standard #single remote, etc#. Oversight The oversight is sort-of minor, and won't make a difference in a few years time, since standards change and get upgraded and outdated quickly, but while this TV does have a dualband wireless AC internet/network connection, it does not offer support for Miracast or other wireless screen mirroring. This will be a disappointment to all owners of high-end Android and Windows Phones as well as nearly all Windows laptops and tablets, since this is the protocol they both support out of the box. But like I said, standards change quickly and when new phones, tablets and laptops come out with Miracast 3.0 or other "improved" technology, we will have to upgrade the TV #eventually# with a new wireless video dongle anyway. While I would still recommend this television to others, I think that people should be aware that for an additional $350, you can get a Samsung with a screen nearly as large with all of the features and improvements I wish this Vizio UHD TV had shipped with.

It did the trick for me for the couple of months I had it. I didn't like the remote control at all and the vizio interface is not very friendly at all. screen quality was good but its a tv I wouldn't buy as my 1st option

    Great starter TV

It was my first time purchasing a Vizio, so I was concern on how well this tv would perform. Out of the box I was amazed with the design. It is a tad thick from the side compared to other slimmer tv's but that's not a big factor (well at least not for me.) The smart remote was my personal favorite part of this TV. It has a keybord on the back which makes it easier to type when using the smart features. When it comes to the quality of the picture I would say it's great for the price, It's not terrible, but it's certainly not the best you can get from a 4K tv. If you are a gamer you might experience a lag (at least I did) for some odd reason the tv would black out for two seconds every 15 minutes. I reached out to the customer service & I was informed it was because of the 60hz. I returned it & got a Samsung. Overall if you're not a gamer & you plan on using this TV for Netflix & regular tv watching. I would highly recommend it. This TV is great for the price.
