Posted .Thanks for taking the time to review our product. There's a few things that could be affecting picture quality. To get the most out of your Full HD Television, make sure you've got a device capable of sending HD content, and that you're connected with an HDMI cable. You can also adjust the picture settings to fine tune the display to your viewing environment. The set comes pre-loaded with several 'Picture Modes' that are geared towards different viewing environments and content types.

Some of the factors that affect picture quality are ambient lighting, such as lamps and sunlight, and personal preference can make a big difference. This is why we include several preset picture modes that are fully customizable through the on screen menu.

Posted .Thanks for the feedback. Most video game systems (PS4, XboxOne, etc) have HDMI connections. They're also specifically designed to deliver an HD (hi-definition) image. If sports don't look as high quality make sure your device (cable/satellite set top box) is capable of broadcasting in HD, and make sure you're connected with an HDMI cable. This will ensure that if the broadcast is in HD, that picture is getting to the Display. Thanks for taking the time to review our product.

Picture quality has not been great

The size works but the picture quality is not great. The picture quality is only showing at 480p and I'm not sure how to change it. The tv is not what I expected.

Posted .Thanks for the feedback. This TV is capable of displaying resolutions at 1080p. In order to achieve this resolution we would recommend making sure your set top box or connected device is also capable of displaying an HD resolution and is connected via an HD capable cable such as HDMI. If the problem persists there may need to be a setting adjusted on the external device in order to achieve HD.

Far from HD

This tv is far from HD quality and is very pixelated when it comes to dark/black colors. Buyer beware

Posted .Thanks for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you saw in the store. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations.

The tv came with a broken screen

This TV was a gift to our parents who live 200 miles away and they did not have a store in a 50 mile radius. We requsted to order another one online, then return the old one when the new was delivered. Due to the date of the purchase, ie couple weeks prior to Christmas, it had to be returned within 5 days of finding out it didn't work! Our parents had to wait for the receipt in the mail, the drive 100 miles to the nearest store! We will NEVER purchase ANYTHING from Best Buy again.

Never got to see it

Good Basic HDTV at Value Price Point
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This HDTV is a newly released part of VIZIO D series for 2016, and a basic model. No 4K, which most reviewers say isn't really needed for 48", or 'smart TV'. I find HDTVs with Smart features are either too complex (Chromecast) or have issues (SS SmartHub) while locking you into what's installed. Rather have a smart device (stick, DVD player). Getting the TV, easy to set up, sound is good from 2 x 10W downfire speakers, VIZIO always has tons of connections. Wish for one more HDMI but.... Haven't had any distracting motion blur or jutter, but then website RTNGS.COM says SAMSUNG J series at much more $ is even worse. All in all a great black friday flash sale value.

I received this broken.

The shipping box was intact, but when I opened that, the inner box had already been opened. I feel I received a used television instead of a new one. I work 7 days a week, and I will have to take time off of work to drive it 40 miles to a best buy store to return it. Not good.

I will try one more after they show me in the store.

Came Broken

However, the remote looks nice and sleek as well easy to operate. Had to return it. Vizio should have better packaging to prevent damages like this.
