Within 2 weeks of buying this TV the main board went out and I would have to plug and unplug just to get the tv to turn on. Luckily I bought the geek squad warranty and they came out and fixed it, now it is working like it should have the first time!

The resolution and active backlight are great, but our TV has faint vertical stripes in the screen. You can really see it with blue skys or white backgrounds. We are working with Vizio on warranty service currently.

I bought this TV a year ago and 3 months in the power board went out. I called and they sent a local guy to fix it after he received parts about a week. It has been working good since.

I bought the TV within 2 weeks it had dead pixels. I exchanged it for a new one. It had dead pixels also. Don't know if this a common problem but I definitely won't buy vizio ever again!

I bought the 4K 65 inch for $999 on sale. My experience is as follows ... 1 - Had it delivered. On time and no damage. They give you a 2 hour window and stuck to it. Even called ahead of time just before delivery. Delivery was free. 2 - Extremely easy to set up. 2 Legs - 1 screw each. 3 - Upon power up you get a setup program which walks you through network setup etc. Very easy. 4 - The picture is awesome. There are 5 HDMI ports (I think 2 are 4k). Number 5 is for 4K and 1080p so I used this for my Game PS4 port. Broadcast tv is 1080i for Prism (720p is default but you can change this on you STB) so it recommended to use the other standard HDMI ports. 5- I am not a big sound guy. I had a 5 speaker system before but disconnected it. The sound for me the TV speakers sound great. Nice bass too. 6- Lastly - there are a ton of different settings for tweeking the colors of the picture. Not sure how to do this, and not sure if I want to since the color can be adjusted well enough from the simple tint/color settings. But if your into getting it just perfect - there is plenty of ways to do it. 8- I play Call of Duty Black Ops 3 on PS4. Amazing on the 4K port. 1080P There is a game setting for lag in the menu. Didn't need it. There is no lag or picture distortion. 9- No. I don't work for Visio and I am not a blogger. I was a bit worried purchasing it since I was getting a lot of TV for a small price. Surely something had to be wrong. The bottom line is that it is a great TV and I could not be more happy with it. Don't spend 2000 on a different brand.

I usually don't write reviews but felt compelled since the bad reviews on this one seemed to get an unfair assessment due to a few bad apples. Sure, if you get a unit DOA then that's not fun, but just return it and get a working one, it doesn't mean it should get a one star review. But I digress... This is a great unit, I did a TON of research before buying since I was replacing a 10 year old Samsung plasma and expect this to be my main TV for the next 10 years. I was tempted to go with Samsung again since they do make a great TV but couldn't justify the price this time around. Vizio gave me much more bang for my buck, a more attractive design and no gimmicks. The metal bezel feels very high quality. 1080p content looks amazing upscaled, 4k is stunning. 480p and 720p you can tell its a little lower quality but overall very passable. My Mac Mini HTPC is hooked up to it and it looks great as a monitor even though there it is not a chroma 4:4:4 set. Whether the source is TV or computer, text, logos and animation render with very smooth curves and edges, no jagged lines like the more expensive name brands in this price range. Overall the quality is just spectacular and a better bargain than Sony, Samsung and LG. Just be sure to adjust the black levels and calibrate as needed to get the picture where it needs to be to be, it won't look great out of the box (like any TV) and may have some clouding initially. Also IMPORTANT: As a workaround for the soap opera effect turning on by itself even after you already disabled it due to a firmware bug, turn on 'Game Low Latency'. I'm sure Vizio should fix that in a firmware update though.

Quit working after 9 months. They repaired it as it was in the 1 year warranty period. 13 months after purchase it quit working again and Vizio will not fix it. $1,300 hunk of junk. Back to reliable Samsung.

Stellar 4K performance and great HDTV overall

This TV is awesome and has been a champ since I got it from Best Buy. The apps on the TV really shine and the quality of the picture is just stunning for 4K. I only see a bad picture when the HDTV feed is compressed by the provider like ESPN games etc. sometimes. The other content rocks. Picture has deep black levels and even the TV sound is good. The interaction for the apps could be better but other than I have no quips.

I bought this TV on a Saturday while it was on sale. My local stores did not have it so I drove an hour to get it along with a Rocketfish mount. The box is vary large so good thing I drove our truck. We brought it home and set it up on the floor to test before mounting. We do not have cable or satellite so we rely on Netflix and other streaming services. First issue was Netflix would not start. It kept giving an error requiring Netflix to restart. We called Vizio support and tried various things to get it going. We were eventually told that a software update was needed and to leave the TV off for 45 minutes to an hour. I was impatient and retried after 15 minutes and it was working. The picture was awesome. The 1080P broadcasts looked very good. We tried watching some 4K videos on YouTube but they only came across in 1080P. I later found out this TV does not support YouTube 4K. We were able to stream 4K clips from UltraFlix and again the picture was crystal clear. At this point we went ahead and hung the TV above the fireplace about 7 feet from the floor. (Rocketfish tilting mount works great by the way!) We finished up watching season 7 of 'Sons of Anarchy' over the next few days. We noticed some motion blur on the fast moving scenes but nothing too out of the ordinary for an lcd TV. This leads us to our second issue. The screen started developing a yellow haze/hue from the bottom center of the screen extending up. It was really noticeable during white/light frames and started catching my eye frequently. I did some searching online and decided I'd try out some calibration settings to see if that helped. It did not. We called Vizio support again and were given two options; take a picture of the issue and have someone come repair it or, take it back to Best Buy. We pulled it down on Saturday, exactly one week after purchase, and returned it. Interesting enough the employee that helped us with the return process said the exact thing happened to them with their Vizio TV. It really is a great TV but I would recommend the extended warranty!

Purchased this 3 years ago. It quit on me 1.5 years later. I replaced the power board. Now it just went out again. Starts to turn on, but then turns off. Will not by another Vizio.
