This TV broke down after just 4 years!

I am very disappointed with this purchase. We bought this TV because we thought we had a great deal and Vizio has good quality but it broke down after 4 years. My kids were just watching tv and half of the screen went black. We took it to a technician and was told the microprocessor was broken and had problem with regulator circuitry. A TV should last more than 4 years! This one doesn't.

After Calibration, Its an Awesome TV

I purchased the 65" and have had this TV for about a week and a half and after calibrating color and TV we couldn't be happier. I decided to purchase this TV over a Sony due to the amount of extra tech that came with it over the Sony 65" at the same price point. With that being said when we first got it home the over the air HD antenna that we use looked horrible. Sports and faces were blotchy and we about took it back for the Sony. After some research on the internet I came to find out the problem, the color calibration and TV setting were way off. Cnet has a great review of this TV and they even give the calibration settings at: http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/vizio-m65-c1-2015-m-series-picture-settings/ that they used to review the TV. After that it was a game changer. I'm not sure this will work for every display, but it did wonders on mine. Football games and soccer matches look awesome!!! Game mode looks amazing playing Battlefront on PS4, as well as Halo 5 and Fallout 4. My son and I have been watching all the Star Wars movies in anticipation for the upcoming sequel and we were blown away by the clarity after the calibration. I still have a little hesitation buying a Vizio, but my dad just bought the Sony 65" at the same price and without calibration it also looks horrible. The only qualm I have with this TV is where the remote sensor is located. Its under the left bottom corner and since our surround sound speakers usually goes there it was blocking the remote signal. Nothing big, but our speaker looks out of place....OWE NO!!! In conclusion I would definitely recommend this TV.....after calibration.

    Awesome TV

Awesome TV, great picture 4k looks awesome and the wi-fi just blazes. it takes like 5 seconds to load a 4k TV, no buffering its just smooth. I read some of the other reviews and i think some of these people are crazy. People are biased cause this is Vizio, but i will be buying another one when i need to upgrade. Got the 65 inch p series and couldn't be happier with it. the picture clarity and colors are great i am using the vivid picture setting and have the clear motion active. when i have my Xbox one in the settings are the same but you have to go to more options and siwtch on the Game latency feature, works grat. no lag at all with this switched on. The sports look incredible too never seen them better. Everyones taste is different because i hear "soap opera" effect......that means the tv is running super smooth and refreshing, i think it looks like real life. Which is what HD and UHD are suppossed to do. this TV is a must buy for sure i am very happy with it, setup only took 5 minutes. Best Buy delivers it and make sure it is working for ya before they leave, perfect. I would just add that you should buy the vizio 3.1 sound bar w/wireless sub. For the size it gets so loud and rocks my house. Perfect buy!! Beware of Netflix though when upgarding to UHD, it cost 4 bucks more a month and you have to go into your settings on a desktop or laptop computer and make some adjustments to the bandwith, needs to be set to high not auto to get 4k UHD content. But thats Netflix being stupid.

After reading many reviews both on this site ad well as other sites, I finally pulled the plug and purchased this TV. I'm not a professional tv reviewer but We love this TV. We were also looking at the Samsung 8500 model but at the time it was a thousand dollars more. We have a very large and very bright room and this looks wonderful even during the daytime. 4K content looks amazing, just wish there was more being broadcast. I find the remote to be easy to use especially like the keyboard on the back. We have a great sound bar which sounds even better with 4K content. Definitely need a sound bar mine is a Torsten Jamo that I purchased last year at Best Buy love it!

LOVE IT!! Awesome Value for Incredible Picture!!!

This is going to be a long one.. if you don't feel like reading I'll get right to the point, this TV is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! I love it and highly, highly recommend it! I had originally purchased a 7100 Samsung and wasn't impressed so I switched it out for this one, and I am blown away at how much better the picture quality is!! I read A LOT of reviews about TVs beforehand, and I was torn between this TV and the Samsung 7100. My max price range was around $2,000, but the less the better of course. I opted for the 7100 because it was in stock at the store and the picture looked better on display in the store. What a fool, I fell for it even though everyone knows its a setup, the store is super bright with the UV lights, so whatever TV is cranked up the most looks brighter and therefore better. But when you get it home its obnoxiously bright and oversaturated. Its so much different in my living room. I learned after I bought it, when I was searching for calibration settings to make it look better, that Samsung doesn't always use Samsung LCD panels in their sets [search Samsung Lottery]. I found out mine had a Sharp LCD panel and was not pleased, felt like I had been duped. Even with all the recommended settings from all over the web it didn't wow me, didn't even come close. I'm not trying to bash Samsung, I love their phones and tablets, which is why I figured they know screens, but the outsourced panel was a huge turn off. It was a nice TV and I'm sure some people will love it, but it just didn't meet my expectations for a TV I'm investing well over a thousand of my hard earned dollars in. I just received the Vizio 65" delivered and it blew my socks off, I was just now able to lift my jaw off the floor to write this review. Haven't even calibrated it yet, just switched to the "calibrated" preset and it is beautiful. Crisp colors, and deep blacks. The 32 dimming zones really help out and provide a much nicer picture than my previous set. I figured the bigger name set was a better picture, and it was $500 more so it seemed like a "you get what you pay for scenario". I don't see the hype of 3D, tried it and its definitely not an everyday thing, its more like a party trick. I love that the Vizio doesn't have it... means I don't have to pay for something I don't want just to get a really nice performing set. The Vizio is very basic in its smart features, which is perfect. I like tech and all but there is no need to over complicate TV watching. It's easy to use and you can move from TV to apps in an instant. No popups or crazy menus leaving you scared to hit another button. I, like many people, have a game system [or Roku, Fire Stick, etc] connected so I didn't even need a smart TV for streaming, but its nice to be able to switch to Netflix or Hulu with a press of a button. I really like the lack of fancy settings and apps with this TV. If you research calibrating the other brands, 99% of the time they tell you to turn off the fancy settings anyhow. The picture on this TV is AMAZING! I can't believe its is this nice, for the price [1299.99 on sale when I bought it] It blows TVs double the price away. I would upload a photo, but it doesn't do it justice, its something you have to see in person ,in a normal environment, to really appreciate. The only thing I don't absolutely love about this TV is the remote, and I knew that from reading the other reviews. It does have a nice, backlit qwerty keyboard on the reverse that is great for typing. The shape is just square and not very comfortable in the hand, it feels clunky to me. There is no backlight on the front of the remote, not sure why but makes it harder to find the button you want. Also you can not program it to control the cable box, it does work with my Vizio sound bar for volume, but I was spoiled with the previous TVs ability to work my TV and cable box from one remote. So, with the money I saved on the return, I went out and got a Harmony 650 and it is a perfect solution for me, can program everything to it and put all the other remotes away now. I would 100000% recommend this TV to anyone looking for a really nice picture, and the price is fantastic compared to the competition. If you like the bells and whistles of syncing a phone, 3D, etc then this probably isn't the set your looking for. Honestly I would have paid twice what I paid for this TV and still been happy,a little over my budget, but the picture is definitely worth it! Also, for gamers, there is a special hdmi input [#5] for gaming, with some of the lowest lag time available on a TV today. The 1080 up-converted on this is incredible, and the 4k streaming online just blows my mind. As my girlfriend said "Its like I'm looking out a window" If you are considering this TV I HIGHLY recommend you give it a shot. The display model in the store was not impressive, I don't know if its because of the store lighting vs my home lighting? or maybe the picture mode was different, or a combination of things. I didn't take a second look at it on display, it didn't catch my eye. It was also right next to an OLED so my eyes were drawn to that one of course. Now that I have it in my home, the picture honestly looks just as good as that OLED. I'm sure there might be a couple instances where the blacks won't be as black, but overall its got that same pop that the OLED has. I almost went with the smaller, 55 inch 1080p OLED that was curved but the curve was really not something I wanted. I am very glad I went with Vizio instead, the picture is, in my opinion, just as good as OLED for a lot less money. If you read this far, thanks for taking the time to read it all... and I hope that this helps anyone who is looking for a new TV. Best Buy has a great return policy, they came and picked up my return when they dropped off the new Vizio. They say I have until January to return this one, so if for some reason everything goes bad at least there is an out. So, there's really nothing to lose other than the time it takes to unpack and see what it looks like. Give it a try, I was sketchy about buying an "off brand" like Vizio, but they are really stepping it up. I can't say enough good things about this TV, I am a very happy customer and glad that I went through with swapping the Samsung out for this one, no regrets. If any problems occur with durability or anything I will be sure to update this review. Cheers!

I am so pleased with every aspect of this Vizio, which I have had for 6 days. It has a razor sharp image, a great set of useful Smart apps, a fantastically useful remote. I replaced a 52" Samsung 1080p HD set that was 7 years old and having pixel problems. This 65" Vizio fits almost exactly into the same space as the old TV since that Samsung had a big plastic border and the Vizio picture goes almost to the edge of the screen. It actually is about 1 inch larger in space but the 13" diagonal increase in image size is AWESOME. I have not yet had time to play with the 4K aspect of the set, but HD On AT&T U-Verse is incredible and all the apps like Amazon, NetFlix, YouTube and Hulu present razor sharp images with great color and black blacks. My only issue now is that sometimes the apps buffer for 1/2 second. I am sure I can fix that by plugging in an ethernet cable to the TV instead of using WiFi. I may do that if the buffering gets worse. Now it only happens rarely and briefly. The set up of the Vizio and the apps is one of the easiest I have experienced. I connected these devices via HDMI: - U-Verse Cable box - Sony Playstation 4 - Goggle Chromecast - Apple MacMini I used optical cable from the TV and connected a Yahama Reciever with Cambridge Soundworks bass, Klipsch center and rear speakers and AR-10 pi Speakers (from 1977 - the best entertainment purchase of my life). They all worked immediately with no tweaking required. I did rename the HDMI display for each of the devices so that when I use the Input button on the Vizio remote I have meaningful names not just HDMI1 etc. The only problems I had were the fault of the app vendors whose software does not properly take advantage of the very useful QWERTY keyboard on the back of the remote. You have a choice for setting up most apps of using the front buttons like a Playstation or X-box controller or using the backlit QWERTY keyboard. I have a lot of overlapping functionality now. For instance I can watch Amazon Prime video in any of these ways: - on the Vizio directly (there is even an Amazon button on the remote!) - on the Apple MacMini - on the Sony Playstation 4 The best quality is on the Playstation or the built in apps on Vizion, but the Apple is very very close. There are preset picture configurations: - Standard - Calibrated - Calibrated Dark - Computer - Vivid - Game They definitely do change the image. You can easily change them from the menu to get the best image for whatever source you are watching. I have not had 1 split second of buyer's remorse. The sale price of $1498.99 is incredibly low. Consider that I paid $2100 7 years ago for a small basic HD TV. Consider that the image quality of this Vizio is equal to or better than that of Sony, Samsung, LG and other brands, even sets that cost hundreds or thousands of dollars more. I do not need or want 3D. I do not need or want a curved screen. I may come to need and want 4K. If I do, I have that. In the meantime, this TV is 100% joy. Grab one if you are even casually thinking about getting a get TV.

    When life gives you lemons

Let me start off by saying I own 3 Vizios. A 42'' 1080, an old one, a 65'' 1080 about 3 years old and a Brand new 65'' 4k Model M65-C1 bought 7/17/15 and returning 7/19/15. Brought it home last night unpacked it, set it up and it was a complete joy to use. Picture looked good, but not stunning with hd upscaling. Wasn't much better than my current tv. Certainly not to justify the cost. After fidgeting with the settings it looked good, 4k content looked really good. But upscaling wasn't much different than HD. Fast forward to today and after watching tv for a few hours it shuts off. Go to turn it on only Vizio logo pops up then back off. And thats all it will do. Called Vizio, good customer service. Was willing to send someone to fix it but it'd be 7-10 business days. Then I'd be left with a brand new tv thats already been repaired leaving me faithless in it. Returning it for a Vizio 70'' E series 1080. I don't think they've been out long enough to really trust it for the long run. My other 1080's have served me well so I will replace this one and get a few hundred dollars back. Not to mention it will be quite some time before a lot of 4k content is out, pretty disappointed in the selection so far. Mostly GoPro videos on youtube. I'd wait before delving into 4k. The prices will drop and maybe the bugs will get worked out. I believe I got a Lemon but who knows.

Great TV for Blu Ray movies but not for Sports

First, the picture is stuning when watching a Blu Ray movie. Watching 4K via Youtube is nice as well but it is not full 4K. My biggest issue with this TV is watching Sports. The motion blur is horrible, especially compared to my Samsung TVs. This is a real problem for me since I watch a lot of Sports. So the question is, do I keep the TV for the moives and deal with the issue with the blur or do I purchase a Samsung which is great for Sports but not as good for movies......I'm curious as to why there are so few, if any comments related to the motion blur when watching sports.

I have had to play around with the picture settings way too much on this TV, had to copy calibrations from cnet and rtings. Still not looking great. Out of the box this picture is lacking in every way. Using a Blue ray DVD the picture does looks great. Watching TV via Verizon Fios with the cable box in Native mode the TV for the most part does not look good. On some channels the HD clarity is great but the colors are off, get the colors right and the clarity is off. I have used the picture modes from the TV, and a handful of custom modes. I have used the default pic settings... My test: Having the same TV program on upstairs with a 10 year old HD Samsung plasma, have had three people tell me the old TV has a better picture when viewing HD TV from Fios. I really want to like this TV, I like the price point. Netflix 4K and Amazon 4K is just OK but not a WOW like I thought it would be. The blue ray DVD is a wow viewing Avatar. Tonight I had a wonky App problem and had to turn tv on off a few times for it to rectify itself. It did rectify itself. When using the Apps they worked fine but going to the App Store it would error out and take forever. I was trying to find new apps. Anywho, jury is still out on this one. Could be going back? Could be left on my wall?? Best Buy should show their TVS on display using cable boxes and not the fantastical 4K loops that no one seems to be able to get for content. Jury is still out for me....

TV picture quality is great but the audio is HORRIBLE! Audio quality is that of a portable radio, good thing I have a Bose system. I do recommend this TV but you should have an alternate audio source (ie Sound bar, stereo system). Secondly I contacted Vizio because the manual was missing, only to find out that Vizio doesn't supply printed manuals with their TV's & you'll have to print the 72 page manual yourself.

Picked up a different brand 65" 1080P tv originally and discovered it had a huge white spot in the middle of it. Ended up exchanging it for this TV. This is on the lower end of 4K ultra tv sets as far as price however it seems to do well. No motion blur like the 1080P tv that I can see. Very smooth. Setup up was very very easy.

First i am not an audiophile, but i probably research more then they would. Could not find any real concerns. First for me is picture quality not bells and whistles. When i turned this set on i was VERY IMPRESSED. Right out of the box it was impressive. The up-scaling is great, Tried numerous setting and calibrations. Even used the CNET specs, may be a little dark for me :-). Blu-ray, Avetar was incredible. I find the standard setting in pictures to be best. Hooked up to my 5.1 and loving life. Did find the set "small" got 65", compared to my Sony SXRD 60" I know the Vizio is bigger screen, but it is all screen with no real case unlike the Sony. Wife likes it better as well...bonus. A big thanks to Gabrielle in W. Leb. AWESOME sales person. Have not ventured much into the "smart" aspect of the set, but was able to get connected to NETFLIX with no issues. SO far so GREAT.. For the price there is NO BETTER 4K UHD set on the Market as of today :-)

    Where's the sound?

Purchased this TV yesterday and wall mounted it. Picture is excellant. MNF never looked so good. The only issue I have with it and it's not a huge issue but...... the sound is terrible. The only adjustment for the sound appears to be four or five presets under an audio tab labeled "equalizer". They change the sound for sure but not for the better. Everything is different tones of a tin can. This TV needs to be connected to a home theater system or a sound bar. I picked up a Vizio sound bar today and hope that makes things better. I would recommend this to a friend with the caveat that they purchase or have alternative sound.
