Great Value- some advice.....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The sales guy wanted to sell me a TV that was 3 times as much by bagging on VIZIO televisions.(truth) 4k resolution and scaling are all I really wanted, and the value for this TV was spot on. A word of advice- the "smart features" are mostly within your phone.....Let me explain. I essentially had to download the VIZIO app and sync it with the TV to activate it on my home network. The TV updated and restarted. Upon restart, I was able to utilize my connected peripherals like the cable box, Blu Ray player, Nintendo, etc. I simply synced the TV with my cable provider remote. The TV synced great with my cable remote, and I shelved the included TV remote. The included TV remote is very basic - but for what the device lacks in remote features it makes up for with 65 inches of glorious Ultra high Definition pixels! The VIZIO app is really just a way to cast movies from their sister company -VUDU. I do not forsee casting musch content from my phone- just sayin. PROS: Excellent color. Deep blacks and dark colors. Great scaling of Cable HD channels- no substantial pixelation. Video games look awesome! Netflix looks awesome! Some HD channels were truly splendid to watch in our transition from a 46 inch 1080 screen to this 65 inch 4 K screen. This screen is BIG. The aesthetics are very understated and the VIZIO logo is reasonably sized. CONS: Smart features were a little lacking ( I guess thats where they could lower the price point. Google Cast and VIZIO's Casting app are annoying to me. These included apps on TVs and media players sometimes seem unnecessary. I have Netflix and Youtube through my cable provider so meh on even more apps on every device it seems. I was not too keen on syncing my phone with my TV. The sound was adequate, but I see us purchasing a sound bar in the future. The feet that hold the TV up are very far apart- 50 inches to be exact- and 11 inches wide. Some TVs have a centralized pedestal or feet that can be placed more narrowly. This Television's footprint is substantial. We have to invest in a TV stand that will hold it. (over 50 inches long ). The colors are rich however, with the lights dimmed, There is the slightest hue of backlight bleed - ever so light- but a bit noticeable in dark scenes. The TV has a very glossy finish- which can be a bit of a finger print magnet. This TV replaced our 8 year old 46 inch and the results were jaw dropping. The HD channels scaled from 1080 to 4K quite nicely. I am a tech guy, and for the layman- this is a lot of bang for your buck. you can pay a lot of money for a comparably sized 4k television. This 4k (that is basically like putting 4 standard HD screens together ) You are getting four times the pixels compared to a standard HD TV of the same size. This TV has a pixel density that truly makes your standard HD cable channels pop with much more detail ! I constantly find myself feeling more immersed in what I am watching and more captivated by the clarity and details of some scenes- especially content I have viewed before and the details I never noticed before. The viewing experience is simply more immersive. I notice There were plenty of higher end models- the same size but two and three times (and sometimes more) the price! There were subtle differences between this entry level model and some of the high end brands. I could not honestly advocate the price to performance difference between a $3000- $5000 model and this $1000 model. We are happy with our new 4K TV.

Nice picture but no tuner

Most high definition cable or satellite boxes have an HDMI output. If using the coaxial cable is a must, there are external turners that can be purchased. Not as good as it seems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The TV is supposed to be 4K so you would think the picture would be amazing but in regular HD or even playing blue ray disks the picture is very pixelated. It is not as clear as it should be and the picture is dull, even with the setting on vivid. Not as good as you would think this brand and make would be. Very disappointed.

I should have waited a bit longer

I attempted to resolve an issue with this TV and they were NO HELP. Second, this is not the TV I was sold. It is far inferior than what I was expecting. I would NOT even consider Best Buy for any other purchase ever again.

Vizio not what it used to be

I decided it was time to retire my 47 inch lcd 1080p 120hz, just wanted something bigger and i will have to say what an upset. Picture quality was very poor, I was expecting better then my lcd and that had better picture quality. User interface is garbage its all smartphone operated and very little adjusts you can make to tweak the picture and sound. Also It may have been defective tv unpaired from my phone and took numerous attempts and 45 minutes to an hour to repair phone to tv. A physical remote could have resolved all issues. Lastly, I know 4k is still new and not much content available but all 4k content i could find was subpar. Do your self a favor spend a little more money and buy something else. My replacement is a Sony x900c and i couldnt be happier.

Who would build a tv with no tuner? Will never buy another Vizio period. You also have to use your smart phone to control basic functions. Idiotic!

Throw Away???

Did I pick the wrong store?

Color going out after 3 years!

I purchased the 65 inch LED TV along with the Geek Squad protection. The protection lasts 2 years from date of purchase and you can't renew. I chatted with Best Buy support through their website and they assured me I could renew even though my protection plan expired. I called the Best Buy store I bought it from and they said no. They transferred me to the 800 geek suad number and they also said I couldn't renew. This TV should NOT be going out only after 3 years (almost to the day)! Very disappointed with customer service and the manufacturer.

Great television for a beginner.

The instruction booklet is very limited with info and it is hard to figure out how to load apps on the tv.

Hate It

It isn't any worse or any better than comparable TV's in this price range and class. It is absolutely impossible to get the wifi to connect. I have no issues with my Samsung 55" in my bedroom connecting to wifi so that lets me know the failure to connect to wifi is just the Vizio. Also the app does not work. I wish I had purchased another tv. It is SO upsetting that I can't stream Netflix or HULU because the tv doesn't connect and the app doesn't work. Spend the extra money to get a tv that has a remote that allows you to connect to Netflix,etc because this surely wont.
