good price for size for entry level

Great picture but difficult to setup

VIZIO SmartCast™ products are controlled using an application instead of a traditional remote. This means that any VIZIO SmartCast™ device can be controlled using most smartphones and tablets. Good for the prices paid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start by saying I am not a techie however I do my research and buy what I think is best for the money I'm willing to spend. My dad had purchased two 65 P series Vizio TVs (2015 models) and I thought they looked amazing playing 4K content online and 1080I via Direct TV. So after I graduated college I decided to take the plunge and buy a budget 4K tv when I saw the Ad for the 65 inch E serious for 999.99. Pros: 4K picture looks great colors are accurate even with no HDR. While I wish it had more then 12 backlit zones I think the TV does produce excellent blacks 90% of the time. Cons: I do notice some motion blur at random times and have spent lots of time trying to tweak the picture for sports. With that being said the blur is not bad at all after messing with the TVs settings and probably a lot better at handling fast motion then most 2015 model LED TVS. The remote... I know that Vizio is pushing the smart remote junk on all its lines of TVs however its ridiculous you can't tweak a simple setting using a physical remote. The smart cast app is ok just a little annoying at times. Lastly I'm a little disappointed in the 4K upscaling normal HD content does not look any different. Vizio advertising some advanced chip to upscale everything and I'm not seeing any of the benefits of that. Overall: I'm happy with the TV especially when you think about the price paid. Picture is sharp and colors are good. 4K pictures look amazing. If you have another $1000 to burn look at the M and P lines/other brands. But you won't be disappointed with their entry level line just keep in mind you're paying $1000 for a 4K TV.

Not a good picture

Find an alternative

Not a good experience. It immediately requires a software update out of the box. Once this long, slow update was completed the tv would not turn on. Dead. Returned for a sharp of same size for $100 more. Much much better.

Don't do it

The sound not being so great. In my opinion the audio isn't that great, if you are set on buying this tv, first of all good luck with the video and plan on also purchasing a sound system.

Horrible

Extremely disappointed!! Wasted money!!!

There are many audio adjustments that can be made in the Menu of the TV to affect this. We recommend customizing these to find the best options for your setup. The Surround Sound setting will be your main option to turn off to affect this.

Terrible picture when streaming

My family likes to steam from apps such as Hulu and Netflix and even shows filmed in 4K did not appear crisp or clear on this tv. We traded in for a Sony which looks awesome!

Poor sound quality, only lasted 2.5 years

Does not work with Samsung Ultra HD Player

Posted .Thanks for the feedback. The HDMI ports are HDCP 2.2 compatible. Some VIZIO home theater displays no longer include connection for a coaxial cord. We do include a complimentary HDMI cable to provide a higher resolution image from your cable or satellite box. External tuners can be connected by HDMI to the display in order to receive over the air broadcasts. -Randal
