Customers recognize the 65" Class LED 4K Ultra HD Home Theater Display as providing excellent picture quality and a great price. Many appreciate its ease of use and the inclusion of Chromecast, which enhances streaming capabilities. However, some users find the remote control somewhat basic and initial setup could be improved. The 4K resolution and vibrant colors are also frequently praised.

Outstanding.. IF you know what you are buying.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic display. If you are looking for a tv with normal tv features (like apps and a tv tuner) you should look elsewhere. This is basically a huge computer monitor with speakers. No tv tuner. No built in apps. no coax. I'm a cable cutter- I am full on streaming all the time. I wanted 4k with HDCP 2.2. This display has it. The one big feature on this is that it has essentially a rebranded to vizio chromecast called 'smartcast'. If you ever wanted to play with a chromecast or already like it- its a pretty fun feature. I personally like having the 4th hdmi port (a rarity these days) for my gaming systems + whatever streaming box im using at the time (roku 4 lately). The remote is very sparse but functional. Once you are able to get your smartphone/ tablet paired with it and it's app it opens up the chromecast and other internal features. The speakers are solid for being installed in a flat screen. Really the big draw in here is the price point. Getting the latest 4k in the 65" size at the $1200 price point (i paid a little under $1100 after a price match) is just crazy. it wont necessarily match up to the top of the line stuff out there, but it is tops in picture quality for its size at this price. Super high recommend here - IF you want a monitor and not a full fledged television.

Great 4K Display Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most of the negative reviews that I have seen were regarding the remote control. If you can get over the fact that this "TV" doesn't come with a traditional remote control, then this is a great set. I upgraded from a smaller older set. I found the picture to be very good. I've watched a little DirecTV, and I think that the upscaling works very well. I watched a little sports, which looked great to me, and an episode from Netflix, which was cast from my iphone in 4K. It's all good. For the money, this is an outstanding purchase. As long as you don't mind the fact that all the "smart" is in your smartphone.

Nice TV for price; Didn't love Google Cast system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Appearance and picture are good, especially considering price point (I bought for $1078). The biggest factor to look into when considering this TV is the way Google Cast works. This TV has no apps on it (different from nearly every other system). Everything is run thru the Smartcast app on your phone or apps like Netflix and Spotify. The remote that comes with the TV is very limited (will turn TV on and off, change input sources and picture modes). While using the phone to control the TV is a good idea in theory, I was disappointed in: 1) the response time to the phone app; 2) Amazon video doesn't work with it; 3) I have a sound bar and the volume control from the phone app would only work if I was using the TV speakers; and 4) I just generally didn't like having to control the TV with my phone (would be nice if that were optional). Admittedly, I only had this TV a few days before returning and I never could get my cable provider connected to it for Live TV content, so I may have liked it more if I was more familiar with it. If you're cool with using your phone (or just using cable remote when it is on), then this TV is a good buy for the size and pic quality.

Posted .Thanks for your purchase and feedback on the all-new VIZIO SmartCast™E65u-D3
We’re happy to share that we recently made changes to the product setup experience in order to make it easier and more intuitive. Because VIZIO SmartCast™ puts control of the display into your mobile device, we’re now able to make updates much faster and more frequently, right to your VIZIO SmartCast™ app.
The Home Theater Display is a new technology which can be difficult to get used to. Essentially the functionality of this display exceeds that of the smart t.v. with pre installed apps. essentially any smart device becomes a remote for ease of access to all features and one touch casting of a wide range of apps.
We realize this is brand new technology and it takes some time to get used to it. That’s why we’re committed to continuous improvement which is going to make VIZIO SmartCast™ the best streaming experience and easiest way to control your display from anywhere in your home. Good TV, but a little disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tv mainly because of the Chromecast feature. I was also under the impression that this was a smart tv, which is not the case. You cannot download apps directly to the tv. You can only stream from an external device. This would be ok, but you are limited to specific apps (hulu, netflix, crackle, etc...). I bought this tv specifically to stream my cable tv and to be able to directly access a media drive, but the tv does not support streaming from my cable tv app or have the ability to access network drives. Another minor issue is that it does not even have a menu to make adjustments to the screen. You do have the ability to select standard, vivid, and a few other modes, but that is it. One of the main issues is the tv does not support the Google Home app, which can be used for screen and audio mirroring of a mobile device. I have tried many programs to screen mirror and none of them can detect the tv. If you are looking to stream video, i would buy the lower model that does not have Chromecast and purchase a $15 Chromecast dongle. One positive is that the picture quality is amazing, so i cannot complain about that. however, for my usage, it would have been more cost effective to buy the UHD non-Chromecast tv for a few hundred dollars less. I was using my ps4 and Xbox one to stream netfilx and access my media drive on my old tv. Now have to do the same with this more expensive chromecast semi compatible tv. An update that is compatible with the Google Home app would raise my rating to 4 stars.

Posted .Thank you for your feed back. There are a few things we recommend that may help you. The first is to make sure that your phone is connected to the same network as the display. If they aren't on the same network then your apps won't be able to see the display to cast to it. With the SmartCast Application you can set up the display to connect it to the internet and adjust the advanced menu settings. To view content from a network drive you would need to use a home media application like Plex and you can cast the content to the display. I have tested with a few of the display's here and can confirm that the Google Home App will allow you to mirror your screen from an android device. You can also use the Cast extension of the Chrome Browser to cast your computers desktop or chrome tab. If you need any assistance feel free to call our customer support team at 877-878-4946 Monday thru Friday from 7am to 11pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 6pm CST.

Very happy with the TV and customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We found ourselves in the market for a new TV, a bit out of emergency. (If you can consider owning a TV an emergency) We have had a 65" Rear Projection 1080i Mitsubishi since 2005. The stress of thinking about getting rid of it - disposal, would need speakers, and a stand - had us using workarounds over the years, including expensive adapters to make newer consoles work. We had a $400 adapter fail earlier last week. Combined with the picture quality getting worse and worse and 4K being so much more affordable than when we last looked 3 years ago, we decided it was time. We wanted to do this all (Speakers, TV, stand) for under $1500. We did our research and decided on this one. We have had it since Saturday and we are so happy with it! It has a good amount of HDMI ports that will be perfect for our newer consoles. It only has 1 set of component inputs, but that's an easy fix for $15 through splitters. I mention how we had our TV for a long time because of the perspective. I have never owned a 4K TV and we have been used to a dark screen along with red & green wavy lines each time we turn it on for the first 10 minutes. For us, it's like we are watching everything for the first time. I am just amazed at the clarity of the picture. My kill/death ratio in Call of Duty has gone up because I can SEE! We are so incredibly happy with this TV. For $15 we also took advantage of the haul away offered by Best Buy to say goodbye to our Mitsu we bought from Best Buy originally - might I add, for about 3x more what we paid for this beauty. This is an amazing service... you can't give Rear Projection TVs away, no one wants them. I am not an expert on TVs, nor have I extensively studied what's a good 4K or what's the best. I'm sure at $800 there is better out there, but did we need it? No, and at this price, I don't see us ever regretting our purchase. Despite the negative reviews, it DOES come with a remote. You can use the remote to change inputs and volume. For more advanced settings you have to install the Vizio app on a smart device. If you don't have a smart device or aren't familiar with using one, you may have a little trouble. For us, we were perfectly content with the way it's set up. Through the app, you can cast on to your TV. We spent an evening watching YouTube videos on a glorious full 65". Casting was easy, this is something we will use often. This is an amazing price and an amazing TV.

Great TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unbeatable value for a 4k TV of this size and trusted brand. The Google Cast is a great feature. I wish I had done more research to understand the difference of 4k with and without HDR as this TV does not, however again, for the price it is still hard to beat. Not a lot of 4k content out there now, but it's always nice to future proof yourself with a purchase like this. Only real negative is the remote is incredibly basic, and the Smartphone app to use your phone as a remote can be irritating constantly running in the background of your phone.

Awesome!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hi, I am not a techie, but an Ok user of smart phones. Bought this yesterday, and super happy with the quality of picture. UHD is about what image quality to feed to your TV, remember that it cannot make up a 1080p to UHD by itself. So, when you feed good quality, its is evident. Viewing 1080p on youtube is also giving good results. Tuner free and simple remote features are awesome. Never liked searching for multiple remotes at home, when you smart phone can do so much. Also, remember that you are not buying a music system, its a TV. You still need a music system with a surround sound to do the magic that you need for home theater effect. And Yes, I was a big fan of Samsung for 10 years, never tried anything other than Samsung in my life. Tried Vizio simply for the price. Amazed to see the quality of pics for the price I paid....will soon add a Sonos Play 5 to this TV....Play 5 is not a sound bar, but will do the magic of Home Theater at under $500. Very Happy with the TV.

Great Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased 65" and it was priced competitively. I like this TV, has great sound & picture. THe only draw backs are the inability to connect to Netflix, HUlu, etc unless you download an app on your smart phone and log in that way. I attempted doing that and it still didn't work. I'm slightly annoyed by that. Probably a little more than slightly especially since the app isn't the best and malfunctions quite a bit. BUT if we're just talking about the tv on its on merits it's great for a family room tv & movie nights.

Great Display / Horrible interface
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This model does not come with a tablet controller. It requires you to download the smartcast on your phone in order to complete the setup. You are unable to go into the settings of the TV otherwise. The remote they give you is incredibly limited as it what it can do. If you have an android phone and enjoy using google chromecast, then this tv may be for you. If you use an Apple phone, you're going to have a lack of functionality. This TV does not have built in apps. You can only cast things through a smart phone or tablet. The picture looks great, but the interface isn't intuitive at all. If you don't have fast internet, don't even bother getting this tv. You won't be able to adjust any settings. I installed and mounted this for a friend and he immediately regretted buying it once he turned it on. Definitely do your research before buying this. If you only need a pretty monitor, this tv is for you. Otherwise I'd pass.

Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great value and quality for the price. I didn't realize that there was a difference between a smart cast tv and a smart tv. So we just wish it had apps like Netflix and what not built right into the tv instead of having to go through our devices and cast it. Sometimes connecting is a pain. But I'd rather buy an Amazon Fire stick than spend double on a tv this size to have it built in.

Great TV at a great price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic TV for under $1000. First off you can't even find anything else over 60" for under $1500 that has 4k capability. I agree with other that the apps are lacking, but if most people have another streaming device like a PS4 connected anyway that has all these apps. Connecting and using the Vizio Smartcast and Google Cast are easy and intuitive in my opinion. It sounds like a lot of people have had issues with these but it really seems simple. It is pretty neat to be able to cast pictures from my phone or tablet to show family and friends on the big screen. I would recommend this TV and I really don't understand the negative comments from others. It may not have as many nice features or remote control as Samsung, but for what you do get, it's a helluva TV.

Excellent Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I carefully reviewed multiple TVs and we were hesitant to get the Vizio TV but we are SO happy with it. The Best Buy employees were not very supportive of the purchase and tried to get us to spend over $1,200 for a TV but we are glad we bought this TV. It looks amazing. The picture quality is awesome. I know that for some the remote is an issue but my husband and I just got the kindle fire stick so we didn't have to worry about having the remote app on our phones or tablets constantly going and it's worked out perfectly.

Very frustrated...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've looked everywhere online. My assumption was this was a "smart tv" it's used in a room For my children who do not have a tablet or phone. I also bought this for a rental property. I can't access Netflix and my renters are extremely frustrated because no one wants to download the cast app to use their phones as a remote.... Don't buy unless you want to use your iPad or iPhone as a remote.... Super frustrating. I left room with my phone and my husband can't access apps ... He either has to download it on his phone or wait until I come back Super frustrating. Wish I bought the Samsung
