    Best TV for the Price

I just got this on the Black Friday special so I am still evaluating and waiting on any issues that might pop up, but this is a phenomenal upgrade over my 5 year old Samsung F7100. The black levels and contrast don't get any better without going to an OLED or top tier QLED. There is only a blooming effect when you have a black background with small pieces lit up, but you will only experience this very minimally. There is no blooming when watching shows and movies. Colors are great and really pop when watching things with a bright color pallet like Planet Earth 2 on Netflix. I have only used the on TV smart features minimally, but they are not as bad as many have claimed. The phone app adds nice functionality and lets you adjust everything right from your phone without bringing up the on screen settings and interrupting your viewing experience.

    Outstanding tv for 2 weeks

I originally left 5 stars for this tv as the picture was absolutely beautiful for the price. Two weeks in, a bulb/ backlight burned out leaving this dark grey blob in the center of the tv. It took 8 days to get it delivered, so there was no returning it to Best Buy. This is where the fun begins... I called up Vizio and asked if they could fix it or replace it, and they said they couldn't, as there was no stock anywhere. I would have to return it and they would credit me once they received it. That was over a month ago. Approximately 7 to 8 calls later, they are still working on picking it up and just told me that if I don't hear from them in the next week to please call again! I have been nothing but courteous to those kind people in the Phillipines, but I think they miss half of what I say due to the bad phone connection and vice versa. I pray that this tv is returned for credit prior to the warranty expiring, but it's not looking so good. If you got a tv that works, baby it... as hours on the phone with people on the other side of the planet who can't comprehend what is happening here may just try your patience a little.

    A beautiful tv!!

This is my first 4K tv, and I must admit that I love it!! I paired this with a 4K blu-ray player along with a 4K receiver that both handle Dolby Vision, and the result is a great one! The tv itself looks great mounted on the wall. The picture is great! It's not quite as good as an OLED display, but that's a different price point. For the money, I believe I've definitely gotten a great product! When I play a movie that has Dolby Vision or just 4K HDR, I love the picture! I can't wait to get Aquaman so that I can see how that colorful movie looks on this screen. All in all, I'd say this tv is a great buy!

Not worth the penny; High defect probability

Features: Rock solid. Dolby Vision, HDR, 5 HDMI Ports to name a few. Fantastic feature set for the price. Even the premium TVs do not offer it all. Picture: Overall colors are fantastic; Dolby Vision in particular looked terrific. Brightness is a hit or a miss. If you have a home with large windows and doors, it may not work well for you very well. Image was sharp and well represented. Motion was okay. A great TV at about a 1k price range. When it works; it worked well. Reliability: Tried 4 different sets of this TV. The first 3 devices has bad backlighting where some of the zones were brighter than the other (visible dots through the screen). 4th set has image freezing issue where a video would appear to be paused, however the audio will continue to flow. I have given up on this set after my last attempt. Although the current sale price is tempting, I will wait on the next year's Vizio lineup and see if the problems has been ironed out or simply look at a different brand in the same price range.

    Vizio P65-F1 (2018) - Incredible Picture

This TV's picture quality & processing easily competes with with the Sony 900F, except it costs significantly less. I was on the verge of buying the 900F until I saw this TV, once I saw the price I was sold. You will not regret getting this TV.

This will be my 10th Vizio TV, we use them in conference rooms for work and have been using them at home for 8 or so years, This TV replaces my 8 year old 55" Vizio and what an upgrade it is. The upscaller works well dosnt have any issue with streaming content. Disabled the onboard speakers for use with Sound Bar. Works great. built in apps seem to work fine for streaming Amazon and Netflix in 4k. The local dimming zones are nice and crisp. No complaints about this TV thus far.

    These are Quantum Dot displays

Contrary to what some people want to tell you, the Vizio P series Quantum TVs are not only affordable, they’re also using Quantum Dot technology (this is a color enhancement to an LCD panel that allows for brighter displays and wider color gamut’s so you can use Dolby Vision HDR). The picture on this displays are just flat out awesome and you’re getting a 55” model at round half the price of the competitors displays. This is worth every penny! It has a truly incredible picture that is second only to OLED displays.

picture great, but software is slightly buggy

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The picture is great, and the interface is easy to use. What I find almost unforgivable is that the user interface has crashed or frozen on me several times in just the first day of use. Never while a show is playing, but it will crash when I switch inputs. Presumably that can be fixed with a future software update, but it's not something I would expect from well respected company.

Great TV until it wouldn't turn on

We bought our P series Nov.23, a little tweaking & it was dialed in to our satisfaction. Had no issues at all until 10 days ago. TV was turned off for the night, & the next day when turned on, it would not boot up. Meaning, the Vizio logo came on, stayed on for about 10 seconds, then would turn off. It would then start backup, show the logo again for approx. 10 seconds, & turn off, just doing this over & over again. After trying a soft reboot, a hard reboot, unplugging TV, trying a different outlet, leaving unplugged overnight, all things found on Vizio's site to try, still same result. Luckily, I purchased a 5 year Geek Squad protection plan. I called last Friday, they came to the house Saturday morning. They are pretty sure it's the main powerboard. Ordered the part & was supposed to be back yesterday morning for repair. Now I'm being told that the part is on backorder & I have to wait another 2 weeks for repair. That will equate to over 3 weeks without my TV, that I've only had 2 months. You can't exchange or return after 30 days. I hope once it's fixed, all is good. I really do like this TV, but I am concerned. I feel Best buy should have just replaced it with a new one.

Love It! Best High End TV I’ve Ever Bought!

I’ve previously owned Samsung’s 8000 Series for my great room in my house. This Vizio P Series shows a significantly better picture quality with the integrated Ultra Color Spectrum Technology that they use. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with their recently upgraded Smartcast OS, which allows direct mirroring from your smart phone or tablet, similar to what Apple allows. They’ve made the platform easy to use again, with the newest technology. I would recommend this model to anyone who’s looking to upgrade or replace their home’s main TV to watch movies!

    Excellent TV, Horrible Interface

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this TV based on the review from Wirecutter. The picture is absolutely gorgeous, but the interface is a laggy mess. The interface of the competing TCL is A LOT better, but based on reviews, it fell behind in picture quality. I deducted 1 star for the horrible interface, but I spend more time looking at my TV than changing the channel/input, so I'm glad that I went with the Vizio.

After much research, I finally decided on the Vizio P series. The tv is very elegant. The remote is nice and the built-in OS isn't bad. It has plenty of HDMI ports. The 4k, and HD quality is amazing. Some of the best I have seen. Non-HD doesn't look that great but that's to be expected on a tv of this size.

I'll make this short TV is awesome. Great colors without a doubt. the interface not so much . The built in interface is so sluggish that I just bought me the roku HD streaming and it made all the difference. Vizio needs to really focus on improving this immediately.

Got this for Black Friday and have been in awe of the image quality this set produces! I had a 65" LG 4K TV I got about a year ago and this set blows it right out of the water. The reviews were right and I'm glad I got this! Makes the TV experience watching Netflix 4k HDR content so amazing! Thank you Vizio!

Good for native dolby vision not much else

The TV is terrible with accepting an HDR signal over HDMI. Many people including myself had serious issues with this. I even bought all new cables. The TV would also randomly reboot. It had bad motion that would give me a headache while using external media player like the apple tv 4k, which it cannot remove judder from according to RTINGS, and it’s native apps are really bad, let’s be honest here. And this was not because of the Soap Opera Effect, nor did the interpolation fix the issue either. My ps4 would only connect the first two or three days, then it would not detect the signal anymore. It had terrible upscaling as well, which was truly irritating watching anything other than dolby vision 4k content. I admit that looked great with awesome black levels, but not worth the downsides. I even watched 1080p content on my nu7100 over this tv, which was also 10 inches smaller. It also had a bit of dirty screen effect and banding, but not as bad as my TCL 6 series had. It would not have been a deal breaker if not for the other issues. I replaced it with an nu8000, and have been super happy. The nu8000 just needs a bias light led-strip kit at night to match the Vizio P series black levels in a dark room, which does not raise the brightness of the room, just darkens the black levels a bit. And everything else totally outperforms the Vizio. And dolby vision is made for 12 bit 4 thousand nits brightness TV’s, so it really makes no difference if your TV supports it or not, because it can’t actually put it to proper use (no tv is 12 bit or that bright yet.) For now, standard HDR 10 and HDR 10+ is just as good. I would only recommend this TV to watch only 4k content in a dark room, and only on the native smartcast app, otherwise it may not connect, and have bad motion. And remember most content is not in 4k, but it is slowly increasing. It also may have trouble connecting to a games console. These are widespread issues if you do your research.

    HDMI Issues

This set appears to have an issue with its HDMI ports when sending a 4K HDR signal. I purchased the P65 model twice and they both had the same issue on the 1st port. When you enable the UHD feature the TV goes black and you get an error that there’s no signal. I tried multiple cables including a very expensive fiber HDMI cable and it did not work. This TV has an excellent picture but I can’t recommend it if you want to use the HDR functionality for gaming in 4K.

Hello Bigmixx, if you are using HDMI 5 on this unit it will not support 4K HDR gaming as this port is designed to offer a low input lag connection. However, HDMI 1 thru 4 are designed to be used for 4K HDR. If you are having an issue with this functionality not working please give our customer service a call at 877-878-4946. VIZIO

cheapest tv that you’ll find with a 120hz panel, wide color gamet, 10 bit display, really strong local dimming and 1000 nits for brightness. It’s really a great set. The sound, however is pretty sub par, buy a sound bar.
