Great picture Horrible support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture is excellent. Dealling with Vizio support was horrible. After 4 months the TV was stuck in a boot up loop. Several calls to Vizio support determined they needed to send a on-site repair tech. A week later, the tech showed up and could not fix the TV. Several call back to Vizio support, they setup a on-site exchange. The exchange was for a "recertified" TV. They said after three months (mine was 3 months two weeks) they don't replace the TV with a new one only a "recertified" Hours and hours on the phone with support asking for an exception and a new TV for the swap they agreed. Another week went by for the TV to ship. I got three confirmation emails and took off of work. The day before I got a call saying all of my parts had not arrived and I needed to reschedule my appointment. Turns out their carrier got both the canceled recertified TV and the new TV orders messed up. Hours on the phone later with Vizio and the carrier to get the new TV delivery back on track. Another day off of work, on the day of the new delivery, carrier calls and says the truck broke down and I would need to reschedule. Hours on the phone again with Vizio (no help never a callback) and carrier who I needed to sort out the new delivery details. Finally, almost a month later the TV was delivered. Carrier said they would send two people to remove the old and setup the new. One guy showed up. I had to help get the TV out of the truck, into my house, remove the old, unpack and setup the new TV.

Dark Corners very distracting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sold my Panasonic vt50 top rated in it's time plasma then bought the vizio based on all the reviews. Pros: Color pops slightly more than the plasma. TV weighs half as much as Plasma Plasma for black and white old movies TV shows blow away the vizio. Con: Big Con black dark corners very noticeable in solid color scenes. Like snow, sky etc. Went to Walmart today and all the TVs including cheaper ones didn't have dark corners like my supposed top rated Vizio.

Excellent picture, but mediocre gray uniformity.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I won't bother rehashing the specs except to say that the reviews from rtings.com and others are pretty spot on. I I connected my Sony 4k player and started my "systems check". Long story short, I discovered an issue with the panel's gray uniformity. For the most part, the panel is able to maintain a fairly consistent color except at the corners (which was expected). But I also discovered a 6x4" dark patch on the left edge of the screen which is noticeable whenever a solid color is displayed in that area. It isn't horrible, but it is one of those "once you know it's there, you notice it" situations. which brings me to my dilemma. Normally, I would simply exchange the set, but I do not have a vehicle large enough to get the set to the store which is why I had it delivered, so I may be stuck with the set. needless to say, I am pretty disappointed that an otherwise excellent tv has this issue. I took a chance on Vizio and now I regret not paying the extra cash and going with one of the more established manufacturers.

Grainy, max 10mb/s connection.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought the Samsung NU8000 since it was on sale and got solid reviews. I read that the Vizio P65-F1 had even better reviews because of the Full Array Local Dimming rather than Samsung being edge lit. So I swapped to Vizio...as soon as I got it I noticed the remote was very unresponsive, I had to keep pressing the button and aiming directly at the sensor. On top of that the menu was extremely laggy. When watching Netflix I'd notice it was grainy and you could tell the quality with the Samsung was significantly better. I found out my WiFi speeds on the Vizio was capping out at 9-10 mb's, also Netflix would literally be super laggy and freeze up when trying to rewind video. I called Vizio and they said it's my router or modem..so I swapped both of them out and same issue..I immediately went to Best Buy to get my NU8000 back. Mind you every other device in my house clocks at 200mb/s. Moral of the story...how do you run 4k content on a 10mb/s connection? Also, the laggy menu and remote made the device feel cheap even if the WiFi was somehow fixed for a slightly better picture its not worth it. I wanted to like Vizio, but maybe next time.

Beautiful picture minus the dead pixels
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had my first P Series delivered, and noticed after initial setup that there were two dead pixels mid screen towards right side. Returned the next day for an exchange for a new one. After setup, once again noticed another dead pixel mid screen towards the top. Geek squad just delivered my third TV this week and now there are three stuck pixels and one dead pixel. the picture is beautiful, vibrant, and truly shines for the price. However, I've never had a vizio in over ten years have pixel issues out of the box,and considering this is the P series, I would at least like to have one without problems straight out the box. Guess I'll try for a fourth return, or try another brand.

Panel Lottery Lost
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV overall looks awesome. I had the boot loop issue commonly seen, fixed it by unplugging it and replugging it in. Overall screen has great color range, gets extremely bright, and for $899 is a complete steal for Black Friday. No comments on smart features, use my ps4 for that. Cons: Initial boot loop could confuse a lot of people. Maybe I lost the lottery or I'm too OCD, but the DSE is terrible on my set. It's enough that I don't even want to play RDR2 on it. I can see shadows in between many of the leds of the array. Fully disabling the array helps very little (so the algorithm isn't necessarily to blame). It could have had a hard drop in shipping or a defect in the array, as a lot of people haven't had this issue in reviews.

Terrible Quality...$1000 piece of junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been the worst 2 years of my life with this tv. Have had a myriad of problems especially since out of warranty: horizontal white lines, random rebooting, screen going black, settings changing, you name it. Have been hoping the occasional firmware updates would fix things, but no luck. Moved to HDMI 2.1 cables for all connections with no luck there either. Keep holding out because I really don’t want to spend another grand or two, but I’m at the end of my rope. This will be the last Vizio product I purchase.

Its Ok
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, it's a TV. Not enough 4k streaming on my DTV or Netflix to make me buy it again. I had to do some calibrating to get it to look ok. I wish TVs would always loom as good as they do in store, when at home. Not that impressed. Should have just bought the cheaper 70" Vizio and had a bigger tv.

Vizio confirms: This TV is basically broken
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was recommended this TV by multiple, reliable reviewers in and around the consumer tech scene, but went through two TVs before giving up on it. TV progresses through initial setup fine, but after downloading updates and restarting to install the new firmware, it gets locked in an endless reboot cycle. I didn't have anything plugged in beyond the power cord, and left the 2nd TV rebooting overnight just to be sure it wasn't just a lengthy install process. It was still rebooting over and over in the morning. Called Vizio and was told that this is a known issue with the P65 involving the motherboard and latest firmware updates (and the support tech didn't even sound surprised by the issue I described), and was told that they're still attempting to resolve it. He actually recommended I return it and purchase a different manufacturer's 65in model, as they don't have a fix for the issue at the moment. (There are threads popping up on various forms describing a similar problem, so a quick search indicates that the issue I had is relatively widespread.) I've heard great things about this TV's quality and features when it was first released, but buying it right now (late 2018) is a gamble. Better off waiting for the 2019 model or looking into an alternative if you don't want to deal with the return/exchange hassle. The P-series is basically broken right now. Avoid it.

Experienced boot loop out of box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to get the P65 set up after watching all the positive reviews. I set up the tv and went through the initial set up. First the tv refused to connect to wifi. I briefly got picture and sound and the tv went in to a continuous loop where it would power off, power on, the "V" logo would appear and power off. I tried 5 different HDMI cables in each HDMI port with out success. I also noticed I couldn't access the menu or input functions from either the remote or tv. I contacted Vizio support and the tech and after running through their troubleshooting menu, they decided the tv was defective and wanted to schedule a repair. I declined and told them I would be returning the tv the next day. I'm going to settle for a tv that's in stock as I waited a week for the Vizio and have no desire to wait again.

Not going to buy again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV looked great when it worked. It was giving me problems from the day I bought. It will shut off by itself. I had the insurance but I was too lazy to deal with it. And then its screen stopped working after 27 months.

Loses Channels
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has a great picture but I have to rescan channels daily because certain channels keep disappearing and then it will pick it up again when you rescan. I have 3 other tvs hooked up to our cable and this one is the only with this problem

Trash
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On paper this TV is amazing. Initial impressions blew me away, but after a few days you start to see the cracks that are Vizio's dismal quality control. I had to return 3 of these TV!!! Yes 3! After which I just gave up on it and splurged on a more expensive set. Two of the reps in the TV department also confirmed that they'd been getting a lot of defective Vizio's returned and that they would not recommend their products at all. The first set started developing sporadic horizontal white static-like lines across all forms of input including native apps. The second had an HDMI port die within days The third had the static horizontal line issue again, not as bad as the first, but I did not want to risk it getting worse after the return period. All three TVs were of 50+ week SKU manufacturing, meaning that they were all recently produced, so I can only assume these issues are ongoing. I cannot see this TV going more than a year without giving you serious issues. Vizio's quality control is obviously atrocious and I am so glad I purchased through Best Buy as they accepted my returns without hesitation. I will never buy another Vizio product again. Turn away from this hot pile of garbage while you still can.

No DLNA
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beware this TV will not let you do DLNA. The manual say there is a Multimedia app on the app doc but its not there. I called support and they confirmed there is not multimedia app for DLNA. Just one for the USB port.
