Great TV until it died
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had two and a half years of good use out of this TV until it died. I expected more. I have an Sharp HD LCD that's still going strong after 12 year. 2.5 is unacceptable, but I guess this is why Visio is less expensive. Samsung, here we come.

Not the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my husband and returned it within a week. Firmware needs updated to allow the 4K but Visio has no date in sight to release it so basically just a really nice 2060p tv. Spend the extra for the Sony 75 hdr tv, it looks amazing!!

Posted .We appreciate the feedback and are sorry to hear that the home theater display did not work out for you. There is no update needed to receive 4K content as it supports 4K out of the box. Thanks! -Randal

Failed After 3 Years
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vizio is possibly the worst company you can go with. Thankfully I had GeekSquad, unthankfully it took 50 days and countless swaps of the motherboard and I lost $200 from the original purchase price, but I’m writing this so you do not ever buy this TV. I gave it 5 stars when I got it, it became a headache. Vizio you are awful.

LED’s burned out
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned this TV for two years and three LED zones have failed. It’s looks HORRIBLE. This is a common issue with this TV. Common enough that there is a guy selling LED replacement kits for just over $100 online. The install of that kit looks insanely labor intensive. Pro tip: Turn the LED backlight down immediately to save the diodes from burning out so fast.

Best Mid 4K HDTV on the Market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a bit hesitant getting this model because it's brand new and noone had any reviews on it anywhere. The P series received such high praise with it's picture quality. This M series is a notch below and includes everything the P series includes except for the Broad Spectrum Colors, the multiple 2.0a hdmi inputs and has 64 local dim lights instead of the 128 in the P series. With that said, I am a bit curious to see how better the P series picture is because the picture on this M series is phenomenal. After I played around with the picture settings, I was amazed to see how much better my 1080p content looked. The upscaler in this machine does an amazing job of enhancing the clarity and brightness of the content. The black levels are just about ink black while the colors are nice and vibrant. I'll admit I was nervous about getting a Vizio being that I'm a Panasonic plasma guy at heart but trust me, you will NOT be disappointed with this TV. I will say using the Android tablet takes a little getting used to. I'm used to picking up a remote and playing netflix and vudu straight from the TV apps. Now you basically play them on your tablet like you would on google chromecast and cast your app from the tablet to your tv. It's not bad, but might take some getting used to. If I haven't said enough, the picture is spectacular as well as the price. I can't wait to see what a 4k HDR bluray looks like. Go buy this TV...best one for 2016.

This is the best Screen you can get for the money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If it didn't have speakers it would be a monitor. It has literally nothing in it except Google Chromecast built in. I don't like using my tablet or phone to cast yet, I prefer the Roku far more. But for 4K and HDR, which is Dolby Vision HDR, it is great. The minimalist remote that it comes with is functional, I love how it controls my hometheater and actually works. I've never had ARC work, until now. Pretty cool to press one button and everything is on or off. Unfortunately my home theater equipement is not HDCP 2.2, so I have to run the Roku directly into the TV, but since there are 5 HDMI's it doesn't really matter. What matters most to me is that the ARC is full Dolby+/DTS(not that stereo 2.0 nonsense), not much streaming in the 7.1 yet, but with a great mix with all the Marvel content on Netflix, the surround sound is absolutely amazing. Just watch Daredevil and get surrounded by sound, freaking awesome. Unfortunately Amazon Prime Video is not available with this TV simply because Amazon hates Google and won't let Amazon Video play on a tablet or ChromeCast, so we the consumers get hosed. It works on the Roku though. To be honest though I thought the HDR would be a lot better, but streaming 4k and HDR, there just is not much content, so it's not all that big of a deal. But it looks freakish (Marco Polo on Netflix), I mean it looks like I am standing there looking outside live with my own eyes, not at a TV screen.

Awful Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is the worst we have ever purchased. First one broke within the warranty so Vizio replaced with a referbished one. The referbished one started doing the same thing the first one did only after 6 months. The warranty had expired and we were at a loss. Will never purchase vizio again.

Broke 1 year 2 mo after purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the led strips burnt out and there is a dark strip across my screen. This happened two months after manufacture warrenty ended. Contact vizio and they told me they were not covering it. I looked online and this seems to be a major issue with vizios and this model.

Great picture for 14 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very happy with my purchase for the first 14 months then noticed dark areas on the screen that continue to get worse. Naturally the warrant was 12 months. Sad to pay nearly $2000 for a TV and it lasts less than a year and a half. I can't picture myself buying another Vizio product.

Amazing display, best for the $$$
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been waiting months and months to get my hands on an M70-D3 after doing a ton of research on all the other comparable sets for the price range. Based on a comparison of specs from the competition, it was clear that for the price, this was going to be the absolute best 70" available. I purchased mine sight-unseen without a single review, basing my decision on the glowing praise of the Vizio P series which is the higher-end sibling of the M series. Bottom line, the display has lived up to my expectations and surpassed them. The picture is absolutely stunning. 4k content is beautiful, bright, vibrant and with deep deep blacks. Same applies for upscaled HD which looks way better than I thought it would given the reviews for the P's upscaling was admittedly not overly positive. My 720p cable looks just fine and 1080p sometimes looks incredibly good. DV HDR is currently supported and Vizio has said, on record, that a firmware update later this year will support HDR 10. It lacks the WCG of the P, but unless you have super human sight, it may be hard to notice the difference in color spectrum between the two. Now here's the big thing that is already turning off a lot of people in what little reviews that are out there and DO NOT let it deter you from getting this display... the TV's 'smart' interface (or lackthereof) and tablet remote. This approach is clearly very polarizing with some people frustrated at the lack of an intuitive on-screen interface. All the action instead happens on the included tablet (very nice) or your personal smartphone/tablet and you cast it over to the display. IMO, this is a defining moment in the evolution of the smart TV akin to Apple ditching CD drive or not supporting Flash on the iPhone. Some people are going to FREAK OUT for a bit until they realize having an interface built into the TV simply makes no sense and only serves to unnecessarily jack up the development cost of the product. While most manufacturers stop supporting smart TV after faces after a year or so, these sets are never going to feel dated. Smartphone/tablet apps are going to always be updated and continue to work with these new sets. They are future proof (as much as reasonably possible) because of this. And if you don't like casting? Just get any number of ultra affordable streaming devices like a Roku or Amazon Fire to do it. It'll still be cheaper than any of the comparable sets on the market. Do not pass over one of these simply because you don't like the casting, there are any number of ways around it if you hate it. The only downside I will give with using the tablet/phone remote is that it can be a little tricky to tinker with the picture settings at times and it would have been nice to have the ability to control the sliders with the standard remote included. If you have fat fingers, you may want someone with more petite fingers to help you there. :) Otherwise, I'm sold on the casting. Final Verdict? Awesome awesome set. Don't let negative reviews that solely complain about the casting sway you from picking one up. They are rooted heavily in ignorance about the technology powering these displays, extremely short sighted, and prioritizing the wrong things when shopping for an expensive 4k/HDR display.

Posted .The M70-D3 has fully adjustable picture settings that allow you to adjust the backlight levels and brightness. This Display also supports HDR content through multiple devices and cast-capable applications. If you do not want to use the included Tablet Remote the SmartCast application can be downloaded on your preferred device through the Google Play Store and the iOS App store.

Excellent Value (Dolby Vision & HDR10)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this Tv for about 10 days ten now. I own two other 4k Panels (70" Vizio M series from 2015, and a 55" Samsung 7 series Curved Tv from 2014), and briefly owned a 65" Samsung SUHD KS8500 before I returned it due to the edge light bleeding and backlight glow that is prevalent in those models. By far this home theater display (they aren't called Tvs since they don't have tuners) is the best I've ever had. Admittedly, they don't look to impressive in store. But that's because they aren't hooked up to the stores 4k feed, which is delivered through a coax cable, which this panel lacks. When active Led Zones are enabled the black and contrast levels are fantastic. 4k streaming looks excellent. On par with the KS8500. So does blu-ray and gaming content as well. This panel really shines when viewing HDR content though. Note that this model is one of the few 4k HDR displays that supports both HDR formats (Dolby Vision and HDR10). The firmware update enabling HDR10 was just released today (https://support.vizio.com/s/article/Firmware-Information-244). This means that this Tv will support Dolby Vision HDR streaming content from the likes of Netflix and Amazon, and also support HDR10 HDR content from 4k UHD Blu-rays, and 4k HDR gaming, as found in the upcoming Xbox One s, which I also have coming. Comparable models cost twice as much. This is certainly the best 70" inch 4k HDR set you can purchase right now.
