Then the receiver quit connecting to the base station. I trouble shot it according to the instructions. Nothing. Replaced with a “fancy” $40 phone

Good for an elderly person

Good deal for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a traditional corded phone for years and I hated being literally tied down to the base because I couldn't extend the cord very far. I finally opted to purchase a cordless phone for convenience, as well as practicality. I also wanted a phone that had caller ID built in. This phone meets my requirements. I love the directory feature, too, and have just set it up. The ring is not too loud, but is loud enough to hear (and you can adjust the volume - for both the ring and in-call). The only thing I don't like so much is the phone has a delayed reaction when you are punching in numbers. It was difficult to get used to and I would punch in the same number twice thinking it wasn't registering, but then I would have too many numbers. I've gotten used to it now. Also, the batteries in the phone took about 12 hours to charge completely when the phone was brand new, out of the box.
