I purchased this at the same time I purchased my doorbell. I plugged in and charged the doorbell completely. I mounted the solar frame and ring doorbell at the same time, making sure to plug the doorbell into the solar panel. This was less than three weeks ago and my doorbell is only at 27%. I’m not sure if there is a problem with this or the doorbell, but I’ll be leaving the same findings in a review for that piece as well. Even if it wasn’t using solar energy, it shouldn’t be down to 27% after only three weeks of being installed.

Basically this is a rear plate for the Ring doorbell with the back connector. Will not work with those with the removable battery. Mounting and set up was easy. I found connecting the plug in back a bit challenging, and the charging plate does extent the required space for mounting- all around by about an inch. Once mounted and sell up, I watched how well the charge from the solar plate would be. From a fully charged battery on the Ring, drained almost without any change from the solar plate. The weather in Houston has been overcast and wet, so admittedly there is not much sun. After 4 days, the Ring battery was at 94% from 100%. This is slightly better than normal, but I do not see it making any drastic improvement given the lack of bright sun. Hopefully, this will really 'shine' in the summer.

I think this is a great product in theory. The dimensions, recesses, and installation points are all right on. Everything was easy to work with and everything lined up perfectly. The instructions are clear and there are plenty of online videos if you need help with the installation. My problem is that unless you have a lot of direct sunlight, this will not keep your Ring charged. Mine is on our front porch which has an eve and faces north. It just doesn't get enough light...when I placed it flat in a direct sunlit area it worked great. My front porch just isn't the right spot. Not sure how long it will last as I've seen other reviews but overall it does what it's supposed to do if the light is available.

This is a game changing product for the ring doorbell, assuming you get light on your door. The front of my house gets sun from noon until sundown which has proved to be enough to charge. My ring was out of power for 3 months once because I kept delaying charging due to the inconvenience, however slight it is, of pulling the battery, charging, replacing and reconnecting. It’s extra stuff to think about on the to do list that I dont have time to think about. No more! It stays charged and I can use my brain and time else where. If you installed your own ring doorbell, you can install this. I would double check the width of this fits where you have your ring mounted. It was too wide for my door frame but I was able to easily move the location of the ring so it’s still conveniently located.

Wesserstein mountable solar panel for Ring doorbell. So far it’s been great I put in new batteries at the time we mounted the solar panel & the battery has been full, it gets direct sunlight all day, even on a gloomy day it has stood charged. Con it took about 20 mins to install & we had to drill holes in the house because it is stucco we had to go out & purchase the drill bit size we needed, once the holes were placed it was fast & easy we just screwed the wire prongs to the back of the ring & placed screws back into the ring using the original screw driver that came with our ring when we purchased it.

The Ring doorbell that I have faces directly eastward and is unable to be hardwired since there was no previous doorbell at that entrance. The Wasserstein solar charger should be the perfect solution. This gets about four hours of direct exposure every day. What more could you ask for? This is a great way to avoid having the down-time while the Ring battery is recharging indoors — no more need to do that. Double-check to make sure your Ring doorbell is compatible (there are a number of variations) and you’re good to go.

This device got me off of my chair and I finally moved the ring doorbell. At first I set it up where the doorbell was at. It never got direct sunlight. I left it a couple days and saw little to no charging. I had to get a holesaw, rewrite the whole door but now it’s in direct sunlight. More work than was needed but it gets the job done. It charges and I don’t have to worry about changing the batteries anymore. It fit my ring doorbell 2nd Gen well. I was worried I didn’t have the correct one but I did.

Without the ability to hardwire my Ring doorbell, I was having to remove it and charge it. Now even though it doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight, the Wasserstein solar mount keeps it charged for me.

The description states it works even in low light conditions, but we can attest that it's not the case. Tried this on a front porch that has a doorway recessed inside to protect it from the elements, so walls on both sides of the small patio walkway and eaves overhead. Never would charge. And since charging the battery is a bit of a pain, ended up swapping out for a hardware bell instead that I could wire into the existing system so I don't have to bother with the battery at all. If you have a doorbell on the properly facing wall of your house that will get sunlight all day long this may work. If not, better off looking for other options.

Overall this solar charger is much better than the one from the OEM of the doorbell. It's very efficient and keeps our doorbell charged. So Far I'm very happy with it.

We have shorter days in winter and this device still does the trick. We have anywhere from 20-30 triggers a day and this provides enough power during winter!

Not really charging the door bell as expected…,-,,

Cosmetically this adds a bit more bulk to an already bulky doorbell but the idea of never having to replace the battery makes the extra bulk worth it.

Doesn’t charge. Waste of money. Buy one from somewhere else.

I see customer service states that they quality check every product beofre it ships. That is either a lie or they have poor quality checks because I received a defective product which they claim was the normal yet in comparing the same product with another, the solar panel looked different. This is not a good product and nor is the customer service who addresses concerns so much they they seem to mix things up.

The solar charger for my ring really is a plus, because now I don’t have to take the ring down to charge it. Have to get one for my front door.

Great , mounted and working as advertised. Recommend
