The little time I had it I didn't think the solar worked in the location it was at. I just updated the ring camera with the battery one I like that one better. Less charging time.

Needs lots of direct sun!

Charger gets about 4 to 5 hours of direct sunlight a day and still can't seem to keep a decent charge. Reading other reviews I thought I might get away with those 3 to 4 hrs but it appears lots more direct sun is required. My fault for not throughly reading specs prior to purchase!

Posted .Please know that our solar charger, if placed in maximum sunlight exposure, can significantly prolong the battery life of your Ring doorbell and eliminate doorbell downtime due to charging. We do recommend that you charge your Ring Doorbell to 100% before installation to ensure maximum charging efficiency.
Please also note that the charging speed varies according to sunlight exposure (direct vs. partial). Therefore, it will charge 1% of the battery every 2 to 5 hours. Don't bother if you have eaves
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The description states it works even in low light conditions, but we can attest that it's not the case. Tried this on a front porch that has a doorway recessed inside to protect it from the elements, so walls on both sides of the small patio walkway and eaves overhead. Never would charge. And since charging the battery is a bit of a pain, ended up swapping out for a hardware bell instead that I could wire into the existing system so I don't have to bother with the battery at all. If you have a doorbell on the properly facing wall of your house that will get sunlight all day long this may work. If not, better off looking for other options.
