Installed in April and haven’t even come close to thinking about taking it off to charge inside. It keeps it close to 100% all the time. I love this product so much. Installation was zero hassle as well

The Wasserstein Mountable Solar Charger For Ring Video Doorbell is a great addition to Ring Video doorbells, especially if the doorbell is in a location without existing wiring. Set up and installation was very simple, although there is a key piece of information to know when setting up the solar panel. In the ring app, it will not show up as connected until the solar panels have had time (quite a lot of time) to charge. I thought for the first several hours I had received a defective unit. In the screenshot attached to this review, you'll note that it doesn't show up as a "solar" powered unit - but once the solar panels have had a good day of sunlight, it does power the doorbell well. Interestingly, the Ring app doesn't see it as a solar powered unit when it's had a chance to charge (see second screenshot). I think that may be a software issue with Ring. I don't know how well the solar panels will keep up with the Doorbell, especially in a very harsh midwestern climate. But overall, the concept is great and I expect it to be very useful. Definitely a thumbs up from me.

The one that bothers all users of battery operated devices is that at one point the battery is eventually going to wear off and is in need of replacement or recharging. The ever popular Ring Video Doorbell is no exception (unless it is wired) is no exception to this. And while the Ring has decent battery life of around two to three months, I must admit it is a hassle the charge the Ring doorbell since you have to unscrew it from its base and charge it for several hours leaving you unsecured during that time. But of course, you can always get a spare battery so that you can just replace it immediately. But the lower priced models no longer have a replaceable battery. This review is more for Ring models which do not have a replaceable battery. So the most obvious solution to that if you do not have a wired option is to have solar option for that. Here comes the Wasserstein Mountable Solar Charger For Ring Video Doorbell 1 (2nd Generation 2020). Of course the Ring has its own. But sometimes availability and pricing may influence your decision making. Designed similarly like the Ring solar accessory, the Wasserman Solar Charger is a wall mount with solar panels on the side. You must attach your Ring (I have the Ring 2020 version) to the base which as a USB connector to ensure that your Ring doorbell is being trickle charge. (As of now I couldn’t tell how fast it could charge my doorbell. But I am confident that this product can help in the battery in a charged condition all the time.) There are screws to fasten your Ring to the solar charger and there definitely mounting screws for your wall. And if that’s not an option, 3M double tape should do the trick. And I myself am having second thoughts on drilling my brick wall. That said, using the Wasserman solar charger is easy peasy. I’d highly recommend it to others.

I used this on my driveway gate so when I come back from my bike ride I can summon my kids to open the gate for me. I had ring doorbell sitting around and I decided to try it on it. It took about 4 days to get it up to 60% and it sustained it at 60% after initial charge. It needs full sun light so placement is key. If not and you only have sun for certain parts of the day you won't get best use and also depending on use your battery will drain. You need to tweak your settings to maximize. Anyway if you have minimal use and you want to be off of wired and not be required to constantly have to charge your ring doorbell. This would be the product for you. Would recommend based on my use.

The reviews were kind of in between both good and bad but for the price, I decided to purchase anyway. The installation was easy enough. Had to use a drill since I have my doorbell set up on a brick wall. I installed it back in August and to this day (October now) I have not had to unplug it to recharge. Battery has not gone under 75% which is amazing since I used to charge it every 3 weeks or so! The sun hits directly on my camera so I'm sure that's also helping.

This was the best investment to add to my ring doorbell camera because I was getting tired of having to recharge the battery every three months. Which meant I had to disconnect everything and plug the camera in inside so I wouldn’t have coverage for about 12 hours until it was fully charged. With the solar charger it’s so convenient no worries.

Simple to install and has been keeping battery charges for over a month. It is September. We will see if it works in shorter days of winter.

I’m actually really impressed, I didn’t think it was gonna work as good as it does. It keeps the battery charged without any issues. I’ve only replaced the battery once just as a precaution because it is sitting in the sun. But they work fine. This thing charges it perfectly. (sidenote) you need to make sure that it’s in the sun, at least it gets 4 to 5 hours preferably more of direct sunlight , and you should not have any issues whatsoever. Totally worth the money.

This works perfectly in keeping my ring charged! I waited to write the review to make sure it is a good product. After months of rainy, overcast weather my ring doorbell is holding steady at an average charge of 80% - love this!

This ring door bell works so good. It’s easy to use and the fact that I can access the activity through my phone is wonderful. I recommend this product. I also got a ring subscription for $30 a year. I can review the motion right then when the alert goes off. No theft at my house.

I've had it for about a month now and its working great so far. I was worried it wouldn't work because the front of my house only gets late afternoon sun light. It continues to keep the Ring door bell charged, even in below zero temperatures.

I fully charged it sinced it has been cloudy the last week or so. So far it works great. I've had no problems with it going dead. Yes , I would buy it again.

It was a pain to have to remove the Ring every few months to charge the battery and we like to travel so we couldn't recharge. We've had the solar charger for a couple of months now so I can tell you it's working and recharging. This is a great addition to our Ring.
