This was the best value on Consumer Reports and we feel it's a great buy. The 3/4 HP is powerful and the grinding mechanism is fast & relatively quiet. Our plumber said to run warm to hot water and lots of it every time we use it to keep our pipes clear. The inner area is stainless which shouldn't corrode.

She purrs like a kitten. Best warranty of any competitor including in sink erator. Waste king is the finest name and the only disposers I will ever own. Made in USA (California) and beats all the competition. This 3/4 is replacing a 1/3 in sink erator that's only 6 years old but leaking and busted, cheap junk. Waste King, the best. And I'm just a homeowner, not affiliated with the company. I just acknowledge and respect quality.

This was easy to install. I had my 14 year old son to install it. Works great.

I purchased this unit largely based on Consumer Reports review and I usually trust them but they missed it this time. First I noticed that the rubber splash guard was torn but when ahead with installation hoping the wife would approve. Installation was a pain, due to poor design, And I have installed many disposals. After install I determined the splash guard would not make it. It is very cheap and even if replaced it would not last. Next, when turning it on it starts with a loud clank and then is noisy and seems unbalanced. The sink does not drain well and it does not grind very well at all - takes a long time. Mine may have been defective but I DO NOT RECOMMEND Waste King. I am taking out and taking it back.

the unit received was not the easy mount model but the three prong...which by the way is what the picture is showing....receipt says I purchased model ss3300, but bottom of unit clearly says legend 9940...maybe not a problem...I will install..the reputation is great so I have high hopes..

I just finished installing a Waste King-3/4 HP EZ Mount Disposer-9940 and so far, what a large disappointment. Installation was no easier or harder than any other, the sound is pretty quiet, but the first thing I tried to put through it was some watermelon rind and it took forever. The jury is still out as far as keeping it, but it is certainly over priced for the performance level. In my opinion, it is worth $59 tops; no where near $170 but I am willing to try it for a few days. Overall, very disappointed.

The Best Buy website says this is a model L 8000 but please note the picture is for model 9980. When I went to the store to get mine, sure enough they brought out a model 9980!!!!!! Don't buy from Best Buy if you are looking for L 8000. I expect better from Best Buy. This needs to be corrected NOW.
