Being a longtime Waterpik user dating back to the 1980s, I jumped at the chance to do a Tech Insider Network review of Waterpik's newest oral irrigator, the SF-01 sonic-fusion with its all-in-one water-flossing brush head. Overall, I'm very impressed with the SF-01 and can highly recommend it to anyone looking to step up their oral hygiene program. First, my hands have fine motor skill problems and limited strength. So, I'm very happy to report that the Waterpik SF-01 is quite useable by someone with hand issues. It's easy to setup, operate, and clean. The fact that the irrigator is integrated into the brush allows you to grip the larger body of the brush instead of trying to maintain control of a slim irrigator tip at the end of a fussy hose coil. The whole concept is great. There's even rows of gripper bumps down the back of the brush body and on the surface of the irrigator's on/off button. The product designers seem to have incorporated every accessibility feature they could into this well designed and easy to use product. I'm a big guy with a large mouth. And at first, when I was unpacking the SF-01, I was concerned about the small size of the brush head. However, I quickly found out that Waterpik's ultra-sonic technology makes up for the small size of the brush head. It did a great job of cleaning and getting into all the places in my mouth that it needed to reach. In fact, after listening to me praise the smallish size of the brush head, my wife wanted to try it. So we bought a pair of replacement brush heads. When she tried it, she found the small brush size to be a welcome change for her because she is petite with a small mouth. So I guess brush size is relative and makes no difference in effectiveness in this case. It looks like we'll be buying a second SF-01 for her. I've read on the Internet that a few people think the SF-01's oral irrigator is a little on the wimpy side. But, I found that to be totally wrong. While the SF-01 seems to have a little less water flow rate than my last Waterpik system, it is completely adequate to the task. I think the SF-01's water stream is a finer stream than my last Waterpik, but performs just as well disloging food particles from between teeth and under gum lines. I usually set the Pressure Control dial on 7, but I thought I'd crank it up to the maximum rate of 10 to see if it would do an even better job. I couldn't take it and quickly dialed it back down to 7. In fact, you can injure your gums using any oral irrigator with the pressure set too high. Like I said, the SF-01's irrigator stream is a fine stream and is actually a little hard to see especially in a white sink basin. To really see it in action, I set it on 10 and pointed the SF-01 irrigator stream at the water stream coming from my bathroom sink faucet. Do that and you'll be able to see how well the SF-01's pressure, pulsing, and flow actually knocks the faucet stream all over the place. That's a really good way to see how effective the pulsing is. We always use reverse osmosis water in our Waterpiks. We find the machines last years longer than they would with the harder water we have here in the Midwest. We do add 3 ounces of mouthwash in the reservoir with the RO water. Makes for a refreshing dental irrigation session. With this new all-in-one Waterpik I first brush for two minutes with toothpaste, then when the brush automatically shuts off after the two minutes, I press the switch to start the water flossing irrigator. Then I irrigate until the reservoir is empty. Finally, I rinse the reservoir with about an ounce of RO water and turn the irrigator back on to flush any remaining mouthwash water from the system. Our waterpiks have lasted for years using RO water exclusively. I expect no less from this new sonic-fusion machine. Being that the brush heads are the only consumable on the SF-01, I feel it's worth mentioning that Waterpik might be risking sales of this nice sonic-fusion machine when customers find out they have to pay $24.99 for two replacement brush heads. They are unique on the market because the irrigator water channel must pass through the brush head. But, unfortunately they'll be hanging in the stores right next to other brands of replacement brush heads marked at a tenth of the price of the sonic-fusion brush heads. Waterpik might want to revisit their replacement brush head pricing. In summary, we're very pleased with all aspects of this new all-in-one brushing/water flossing systems. So much so that we're buying another Waterpik SF-01 sonic-fusion despite the high cost of the replacement brush heads.

I’ve always had problems flossing, my teeth are very close together, always shredding the floss. Thought I’d try a water pic and the all in one makes brushing and flossing very convenient. I would have given it 5 stars, but I like Oral B’s toothbrush’s action a little better. Call it 4 1/2 stars.

If have a few pet peaves with it, but overall a great product. I love that they made it so the toothbrush is totally cordless when you want to disconnect from water. Press the little disconnect button at the bottom and you can brush your teeth in the shower or wherever. Very powerful on brush and floss settings.

I am really happy with my Waterpik toothbrush and flosser. The only downfall is that the brush heads are not readily available in stores so when I need more I have to order them online rather than just running to the store to grab them.

Not as good as a separate electric toothbrush or a separate Water Pik, but used in tandem it works great. Because it's one unit, I find I use the Water Pik much more often and that is good for my oral health.

Nice unit - did expect to get better results time will tell. Compact, fits nicely on my counter. Working on increasing the flossing pressure. Overall it is a good product at a good price.

This is a really great product. I liked it so much that I bought a Waterpik flosser also. I really think they are both so effective for keeping teeth clean and gums healthy. Really happy with my purchase.

This is one of my Santa gifts so far I have enjoyed it never like the electric toothbrush but when I saw this one I really wanted this one thank you Santa

This is by far the best model they have made. I've used it for three nights and absolutely love it. You will not be disappointed in this product.

I appreciated the well written instructions, almost as much as I appreciated the excellent functionality of this new variation of the toothbrush, combining well with a water pik irrigation device. Delightful ! Well worth the price !

I really like this product! It does take a little getting used to, but it does a great job. I don't know if it is supposed to whiten your teeth, but it did. It is a system that really makes a difference.

Cleaning your teeth doesn't get any better than this unless you actually go to your dentist and have them cleaned. It's the complete package all in one device that really gets your teeth and gums clean. Well worth the money.

I bout this for my wife since she wanted one so bad. She absolutely loves this product. Says it’s like leaving the dentist after every use. Fresh clean feel you can’t get with just a brush and floss.

My grandmother had a WaterPik many many years ago and my dad wanted one. My grandma has since passed on but I bought him one, he loves it and he is so happy. Like mother, like son. WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I love this machine! The waterpik feature is awesome, it removes food from my teeth, I thought had already been removed with a toothbrush. I wished I had purchased this long ago.

It is a really good purchase. I like it and would recommend it to others. The only thing that would make it better would be if it had the option to be cordless.
