The different settings allow me to adjust the pressure for soft gums, tongue, or hard tooth enamel. I can choose tips that blast-away at the tartar and plaque or gently brush and wash the gum-line. The machine and tips are easy to keep clean and sterile. I am disappointed that the pump mechanism has stopped working and my efforts to revive the water flow have proven futile. Personal appliances of this type should be designed and built to last.
