SATA works perfectly!

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had no problems installing this SATA 1TB hard drive to upgrade my Microsoft computer. I did have issues with using the free software to clone the last hard drive to this one. I didn't have the time or energy or a separate computer to watch videos on how to do it step-by-step. However, I had planned ahead and saved all pertinent data to an external hard drive, which allowed me to transfer the data to this hard drive. My old hard drive was wiped and used for the Ubuntu computer.

If looking for one to install the OS, I recommend getting an SSD, boot-up will be way faster. * product does not look like picture

This is a fast drive

Only had one issue after cloning, few days after installing drive started rebooting on its own, after about the 3rd time error came up fixing area of drive. This has been a couple of weeks now and everything is running smoothly now.

Worked Perfectly easy to install

It was easy to install and works perfectly. Also note, if you replace your old hard drive and not transfer it over your windows 10 installation will not require a new key but you will need to download iso files to a usb drive.

Western Digital Drive Clone and Update

Using Acronis True Sync for WD makes it very easy to clone. I used a Sabrent Hard Drive docking station, but have also used a SATA USB adapter and even mounted internally as a second drive in the past.

WD 1TB Performance 3.5" Internal SATA Drive

With a 64 MB cache buffer and the data transfer rate at 600 MBps at twice the speed of my old drive at 300 MBps, I can definitely see the difference. Worth every penny.

Either it works or it does not, time will tell! However, I can comment on the price. I searched online for a competitive price from the competition but could not find anyone offering a price lower than Best Buy.
