    The advertised speeds can vary on this but don't expect the advertised speeds if using Surface Pro 9. Write speeds are definitely improved over the stock drive but read speeds are in the 3,500 range. I have not used it in machines other than Surface Pro 9 so results could vary from machine to machine. There are less expensive options that provide similar results since you are paying a premium for WD but not getting additional performance over others.

    I returned this not knowing I could address the issue of my Surface Pro shutting down randomly differently. I've since repurchased it and resolved the issue.

    Pick up the ifixit toolkit with the drive. Go to the site and easy upgrade. The drive works perfectly and have vastly improved the functionality of the Steam Deck.
