A: No, not at all. There is a you tube tutorial from WD that shows step by step how to do it. You just need a computer repair tool kit (mainly the screw driver). Be sure to use the ASUS cloud backup tool before you switch the hard drive drive out or you will have to do a full rebuild instead of a cloud restore.

Fast External
I put it in an external USB-C case and formatted 750 for APFS and 250 for NTFS, for uded with my MacBook & Surface Pro. Im getting wonderful speeds on both.
