if you have a PS5 and need a memory upgrade highly recommend this product easy install

Bought this to upgraded our PS5 storage and this absolutely did not work. After a few hours of troubleshooting, uninstalling and starting from scratch deep breaths and a few curse words we returned it.

This is a PS officially licensed internal storage. If you’re like me, you probably ran out of the 660~ GB on the internal storage for the PS5, so like me youve might have bought a WD Black external storage (not this) thinking that you would be okay, only to find out some important details as that led to my purchase: (1) You cannot play PS5 games from an external drive. (2) You can store PS5 games to an external drive but then you’d have to copy them over to the console storage from the external drive to play them [which is probably faster than deleting and redownloading but who really has time fot that?]. (3) You can store and play PS4 games on an external drive for the PS5 but 660~ GB for PS5 games isn’t enough with some of the larger games out there….. which brings me to the WD Black internal SSD with heatsink. Got this for $280 (2 TB) because its officially licensed and playstation has a video on their site showing how to install it (just need a screwdriver) and a couple minutes of your time. Once the PS5 was powered back on, the SSD was formatted and then I was able to change the download location for PS5 games to the SSD. I really wish I didn’t have to do this at all (build it with more interal storage to begin with playstation!) but if you need storage for PS5 games, I’m definitely happy with this choice! Had no issues with formatting, copying PS5 games to it or playing PS5 games from it.

Hteat size ez installed. Works fast holds 100s of games.

Took me all of 5 minutes to install and reboot. Transferred 7 PS5 games in 7 minutes, one of which was COD at over 100GB. Load times are almost nonexistent now. Madden and COD jump right in to the action, and F1 looks and plays amazing. Highly recommend!

This has been working great so far I’m very happy I bought it and have room for so many games especially for all the modern warfares and call of duties

I purchased this SSD three days ago and just had it delivered yesterday afternoon. Installing it in my PS5 was really easy and it expanded my storage by a wonderful 2tb! My read speed was calculated at about 6539mbps, which is about 1000 more than what Sony has listed as a minimum requirement for any compatible SSD. I only labeled it as four stars, not for the solid build and function of the SSD, but the delivery was not very good. Best Buy used UPS to deliver my WD Black to me. When I received the product, the box that it had been shipped in was a lot bigger than the box that the SSD was in. So it was a tiny box inside of a big box that hadn't even been packed with anything to keep the SSD from bouncing around inside. It was completely loose. Horrible packing job, especially for a $500 product. But thankfully, everything worked perfectly. No issues to mention at the moment. I have this WD Black sn850 2tb as the location for my PS5 games, and I have a WD Black p10 5tb external hard drive for my PS4 games. It's not as fast as a SSD, but it loads my games very fast and I am very pleased with both.

Easy to install the only hard part is getting the case off. Recommend getting the 4TB if your a true gamer

Perfect fit if your trying to upgrade your hard drive. Easy installation. Works well with no hiccups and also after installing you will have the PS5 storage separate from this storage which gives you even more room for more games and apps. Definitely worth the money
