Q: Will this work in the ps 5? I just bought it. Store pickup on September 7th.
A: Yes, It is compatible with the PS5! The PS5 recognizes it and then asks to format. I installed after Sony sent out the latest PS5 OS update on 9/15/2021. All my PS5 games run just like on the internal console SSD. Lightening fast. No hassle easy peasy installation.
A: Mine only got loud while the new SSD was being formatted earlier today. I’ve been running it for 4 hrs now, downloading while playing a game. I haven’t heard any loud cooling noises. I’m using a horizontal stand. That may also help with air flow
Q: Does installing this do anything to void any warranty on a ps5?
A: No as long as you do it properly and dont cause any damage when installing. Sony also says remove it before sending it in for repairs.

A: This is an internal drive. PS5 games run directly from this. Games do not run from external drives. Installing the drive only takes a couple minutes.
Q: Upon installation is the ssd supposed to be tilting upwards before screwed into place
A: Yes. When you insert a NVMe drive into the M.2 socket you put it in at a 30 degree angle. The drive will stay at that 30 degree angle until you gently push down on it to screw it down.
