    This isn't the cheapest, the fastest, or the biggest hard drive out there, but it stores data, retrieves data, and makes the computer do things other than being a big doorstop. It does what it needs to do.

    Replaced a failed hard drive with this WD - Mainstream 1 TB Hard drive and my laptop is performing just like new again! Has great capacity and held all of my transferred files and media (lots of pictures and music) with room to spare. Runs much quieter than the original drive did.

    I think WD is the best drive, but I notice the larger drives boot up slower. SSD drives (which are supposed to be better) are still a little pricey. Works in Mac or PC...
