Decided to go with this hard drive to resurrect my old laptop as the old harddrive was failing. So far so good.

Best Buy, geek squad installed because mine took a dump. Works as good as original. Just a pain to get it back to all my old stuff on it.

I am very grateful to the Geek Squad for getting my computer back to me so that I could use it for work in a timely way. They were respectful and explained the issue to my satisfaction. It seems to be operating well. The electrical problem still concerns me, though and this existed in the computer as I purchased it. Just yesterday the computer would not boot up. It did after I shut it down and rebooted it, but I am not trusting the electrical system.
