    The WD Blue series of mechanical hard drives are my go-to for data storage, whether I am using them in a desktop or upgrading the drive on a laptop. They are reliable with a low failure rate. Used largely for multimedia data storage, we put a lot of miles on these with no problems.

    When all the magic smoke left my lap-top hard drive, I needed a replacement drive. I haven't been impressed with "Seagate" drive lately o I decided to go to WD (Western Digital). So far I'm impressed. It's quieter than my old "SeaGate," Which I like.

    So far a good buy, Geek Squad recommended this item, although they were unable to assist with the data recovery. I was able get another computer repair company to recover the data. Only the boot portion of the old drive was bad.
