I purchased this to put in a computer for a friend that needed.She says it is working very well.

GOOD BUT I BOUGHT THE WRONG MEMORY EXTERNAL DRIVE.

good hard drive nothing special to speak of but works fine.

I only use WD hard drives. Have never had a failure. This is replacing a Samsung drive.

it saved my Toshiba. I see no difference between the original and the new hard drive.

Geek Squad had me buy this drive for replacement 3 months ago, the drive is now being re=wiped and all software is being re-installed. Guess the hard drive it ok, just be careful who installs it.

I believe that this is a good value for the money.

Still not working correctly. I had Geek Squad repair my old computer so I had it while my new one was repaired. It might have nothing to do with this harddrive but my computer is definitely not the same.

After 2 hard drive failures in 2 years in my macbook pro, I purchased this. After some research about replacing/upgrading hard drives, I decided to return this and get a solid state drive. I've had a seagate hard-drive fail me, so I purchased a WD black, but that fail too after 1.5 years. I bought this before knowing much about SSDs. Although for more money and less storage, I decided to simplify what I keep on my laptop HD and get 256gb SSD instead. The SSD is extremely quiet and I am confident it won't fail me in less than 2 years.

The new hardrive is not the problem. Ive had new probs after geek squad installed it. Curser lags terribly and the video of movies runs in frames - its not a moving picture. I tried geek squad online an their conclusion was they cant fix my lap top remotely. Bring it in. But, i cannot bring it in without an appointment. Ive tried calling the local store in Muncy, PA several times and each time I was on hold. No one ever picked up my phone call. That last one cost me 45 minutes! If these reviews actually mean anything, someone at Best Buy who reads this should call me at 570 220 2140 and give me a reason to write an update telling ya'll how amazing BEST BUY is at exceeding my expectations in making things right! Somehow it's not compatible with my microsoft office package I paid for. Apparently my software is out of date!

Purchase of this device enabled my computer to extend its useful life. Installation was uneventful except I did have to provide programming discs which were somewhat difficult to obtain.

However, my hard drive crashed after a microsoft windows 10 update and so I do everything to not allow updates. I have been told by others they had similar problems even though Geek Squad denied that it is happening alot.

Just what to expect with a budget hard drive within a certain price range. If you're not aware, WD has great downloadable diagnostic and utilities for their drives. Software actually works very well.

Geeks are working on drivers for the video card as a result of popups indicating incompatibility. Not sure if this is simply a software problem or hardware. Either case it has taken Best Buy over a week and the problem is still not solved.

It works great but it has a loud sound that I don't know if it's normal. I used to had another type of hard drive that didn't have any sound and now this is a little annoying.
