Quality drive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had problems with other brands before, and Western Digital seems to last longer than any other brand of drive. Never had a dead drive out of the box, nor had any problems with WD software.

Nice fast drive, and quick upgrade

Great choice for older Macbook Pro
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used this HD to replace my stock HD in a 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2008). Works in both OSX 10.6.8 and 10.8.5 at a link speed of 3GB/sec. Tried a seagate drive that was 3/6Gb/sec but it did not work in OSX 10.6.8. Although this drive is slower, it's a solid choice for older MacBook Pros. I recommend getting the enclosure. Use it with the "Restore" utility on OSX to transfer current HD to new HD (USB). THEN, install the drive. OSX will boot up nicely and you WON'T need Time Machine, Migration Assistant, or a reinstall of OSX and apps.

Affordable and fits right
