if you need the space, this drive is the way to go. it's pretty fast compared to other mechanical drives and uses fewer watts on your power supply, I prefer solid state drives but the 2TB ones are way too pricey still.

Great hard drive for desktop use. I used this to upgrade an older computer and it dropped right in and was easy to setup. Fast drive too.

Yes, its an older form factor, and likely a bit on the slower side, and of course its more sensitive to shock or strong magnetic fields than anything solid-state...but its still 2TB for under $60. Thats a lot of cat videos...or whatever it is that you're downloading.

I am using my WD Blue in a “toaster” as a network server “filing cabinet”. It allows me to access music, photos and documents from my laptops, iPad and cell phones. I also have a 4T Red drive. Both are great workhorses.

Purchased to replace a failing primary HD in my tower. Easy to install, was able to move everything over. Runs quietly (unlike the failing drive)

Bought this because I needed some extra storage in my gaming rig. Does it's job and gives you ample storage for cheap. But Ive ultimately ended up just buying a NVME SSD because my entire computer is completely silent but this hard drive is actually noticeably loud.

Installed in just minutes and my son was back to gaming the same day. I thought it was going to be a costly and long process, but it wasn’t either of those things. It was a great save!

I am using this drive as data and video storage for a basic workstation. Drive was detected, configured the file system, and started using it. Just works

So far so good. I bought this hard drive to expand my internal storage capacity in my computer tower. Western Digital has been my go-to brand for anything hard-drive related. I've never experienced a poor product, and have yet to have a hard drive fail on me. You can never go wrong buying a hard drive from WD. My best advice is to always buy a larger capacity than you think you might need. With 1+ TB drives being so common and so cheap these days, it's best to catch one of these multi-terabyte drives on sale and save yourself a headache in the future.

I've said it before and i will say it again! WD is the best! Installed this drive in my pc with no issues and i'm looking to get another very soon!

Very reliable. No issues, good speed, great for storage

It only took a few minutes to install the drive and it works great. I did have a small challenge getting my BIOS to recognize it initially, but managed to get through that after a couple of attempts (Dell Windows 8 desktop).

Drive works perfectly, no problems. I was able to load Windows XP then I changed to Windows 10 without any problems. Drive works excellent.

I have been using Western Digital hard drives forever. I needed a drive in a hurry to backup one that was failing. Best Buy came through with this one within hours of my order. I used the free cloning software provided for WD and had a cloned drive the same day.

I accidentally bought this for my PS-4 and had to return it because the PS-4 takes the laptop version. Swapped to same 2TB Laptop version & it installed easily and works great.

Works great wouldn't mind having another one it does well for my autistic eight-year-old
