I am not a newbie, so I believe I did everything conventionly correct. Gave up on it an returned it.

drive failure

I have never had a drive fail within the first 24 hours after installation. I had a professional technician install this drive so no error on my part.

Geek Squad has beginners for installers

I think it is the Geek Squad installder.
