I initially purchased this drive, but I did not pay close enough attention to the specifications. My original drive had a faster rate and the packaging once I read it closer made me believe that it was more appropriate for "additional" storage. I then saw there different colors to help distinguish the different grades or levels. The step up that I wanted was not offered at my BB or maybe just not stocked, so I returned this and bought a different brand. IF it was just added storage, I think this was a good value.

Just before I was to head out of town, my 4-drive RAID array went critical. Rather than try to rebuild it and hope that it was a glitch, I elected to plug in a new drive to replace the one that wasn't happy. This one matched the specs of the others. If I had taken the time to label the cables and ports, it would have been a piece of cake. As it was, I was able to find the right cable, and get the mirror rebuilt in a couple of hours. (15 minutes for me; the hours for the data to rebuild.)

This is being used as a 3rd drive in my system. It is very fast and quiet.

Installation saved me the cost of purchasing a new computer. Was a good option and will hopefully get me a to least one more year from dated machine.

Using this HDD in a Promise Technology NS4300 4 drive NAS. Drive type is non-optimal for NAS purposes, but it does the job. Good price given it was off the shelf at Best Buy. Could've saved a couple bucks ordering it on Amazon, but didn't want to have the NAS running a couple of days with zero disk redundancy (just in case a 2nd HDD failed - I would have lost all my data).

This is a good mechanical hard drive and the price makes it great. Good for a secondary storage device.

Very fast compared to my old drive which was having "issues".

this drive provides more than enough storage for me and my small home based business. Recently built a new PC for the home office and was able to add this drive with ease. I was able to upload all new software. The response time is great files open with no lag.

The WD drive in my Dell has been hard at it for years, but finally was starting to fail, needed to be replaced. I just grabbed a WD, but doubled the capacity for a few more dollars. The downloadable software for cloning made it a snap: it replicated my HD onto the new one, the new after a reboot I removed my old one... smooth sailing now...

easy to install but it didnt come with a sata cable to you have to buy it seperate

until SSDs come down in price people are still using HDDs as game drives... 2TB is kind of the standard but 4-10 is better... I bought the 2TB as this was going inside a travel rig for a TU150... fits great on top and because of the case its hidden from sight...

Need more capacity. I bought this to build open frame case PC. Turn out is good fit in. I assure that I need more capacity on this. Will definitely recommended.
