I bought a WD HD to replace the HD in my desktop. In my experience I have never had any issues with Western Digital HD's. It is still new, but I expect that it will outlast my Desktop like its predecessors. (My current Desktop did not come with Western Digital and the HD became corrupt.)

When the hard drive on my computer crashed, I thought about just getting a new computer. However, for a fraction of what I would have paid for a new computer, I got a better computer as this hard drive is double the capacity of what I had, and what I was looking at on replacement computers.

Works just as well as all the others I've Purchased. I prefer WD Drives For over all reliability and service. I have WD Drives I purchased in the 80's still working as well as the new ones. Granted they don't have near the storage capacity as the new ones. But they still work just as well.

Very easy to set up and install everything was pretty much Plug and Play

Solid 2TB drive with 7200rpm speed and plenty of cache. I am using this as a back-up drive for an SSD, but the speed of this hard drive is solid....although admittedly not as fast as an SSD. However, I recommend you run any new drive (HDD or SSD) through a series of tests to make sure it performs properly before putting into daily use.

Works Perfectly as expected! We use these a lot and they always seem to work right out of the box. Would recommend.

I love this hard drive! Completely new to PCs when I installed this and set it up, and it was extremely easy! With help from some YouTube videos I had no issues! The price for the amount of storage is awesome!!

Although I am not a fan of WD drives, this hard drive performs flawlessly in an external USB multi-drive docking station. All that was required, after placing the drive in the docking station, was to implement a quick format and, since I am using Linux, then mount the drive. It's been working like a charm every since.

I recently put together a new system, so I wanted a drive to go along with it. I just hooked it up, partitioned, and formatted it, and installed the OS. Booted right up. If Iyou're running Windows, you can download the Acronis backup program "lite" version from the WDC website for free!

Great value for the quality got this on sale for 60$ and it hasn't given me one problem at all, I am new to building and the ease of install on this was great for someone who hardly knows what they're doing.

Great storage drive for games. Yes it is mechanical but rarely heart it working and when I do its typically just on startup

Great for typical storage needs in Windows/Linux, but do not use this drive for RAID configurations! This drive uses SMR(Shingled Magnetic Recording) method which is not suitable for RAID. You will corrupt your data with this drive. This drive used to use CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording) which is ideal for RAID but WD swapped the CMR for SMR on many of their drives especially in the Blue line. I think theres only CMR in the larger dries of the Blue line. 4tb *might* be CMR but you will want to google which drives use CMR/SMR to be certain. Other than that great storage capacity for the price and WAS my go-to drive for storage till I learned about SMR vs CMR platter methods.

If you need to replace a failed hard drive or need to add storage space to an existing machine, this drive is a great solution. Installation is a snap and these drives just work great out of the box. Couldn't be happier.

Western Digital drives are reliable and hardy. It takes a lot of abuse, and it keeps on performing. This will be my 15th drive purchased and they all last a very long time with proper care and drive maintenance.

I had to replace a hard drive for a PC that crashed. This hard drive was on sale. I was glad I bough it, I had enough space to transfer my old data over to the new machine once I add the OS to this drive. Well worth it.

It's solid performance and affordable. I needed it for my DVR.

Needed to increase storage due to increased record storage. This fit the bill perfectly with SATA connectors and the ability set up easily as an additional drive. Works great with my primary drive which is an SSD.
