Rebuilding my home media server and found out my RAID controller didn't support the drives I had on hand as they were over 2TB. These were the drives my local store hand in stock. Would it be nice to have a faster drive? Yes, but when you need something "now" your not going to be too choosie. The real test of a hard drive is now it performs over time. The verdict is still out in that department.

This is just what we needed to get our new computer in working order.

The Mainstream line of Western Digital drives are the same as their Blue line of drives so I had a Blue drive and didn't have issues with it til a while back, so they are pretty rugged drives so decided to get this drive because it was local to me, and it was on sale.

I was replacing a failed back up hard drive and this two terabyte drive fit the bill.

I was able to find this for a great price. Works Great for what i use it for.

Works great once installed. Got one HDD that was defective out of the box. Had to exchange for a new one that worked great!

It does what is expected, doesn't have a spectacular read or write speed, wasn't a good deal by any means, but also wasn't a terrible ripoff. Would I rely on it to store applications and files on for 5 years? Yes, I would expect it to last about 5 years performing in mediocrity.

would of gone with ssd but i need this type of drive

Western Digital has been making great drives for years and this one is no exception. Installed and up and running with no issues. Read/Write speed was great when I transferred a large amount of files off of a backup drive.

WD drives have been proven as one of the best HDD's on the market. I bought this one to upgrade an older system. I used Acronis to image the old drive and clone it to the new one. Swapped drives booted on the new one. Up and running in under 2 hours.

Nothing special to say, just good to use and performs well.
