I have purchased many hard drives in the past and this has one has meet all expectation. I am using this to store my movies and pictures and I love the access speed. It was a great price and was easy to install. If you are look for an inexpensive internal hard drive, this is the one to get.

Don't let the 5400 RPM speed fool you, this 2TB hard drive is still fully connects to any 600MB/sec SATA III motherboard/interface and is backward compatible with SATA II and SATA I. I bought this to replace an older hard drive that was failing and in the heat of the moment of getting such a good deal for a 2TB drive, I failed to notice the 5400 RPM speed. But to my surprise my backup image of Windows 7 Ultimate showed this to be as fast as the best laptops I've seen that use hard drives, and it's very quiet as well. All in all I've purchased three WDs "Mainstream.. for Desktops" in the past month and they replace six old hard drives that BestBuy kindly accepted for recycling. Smooth, fast and quiet this 2TB model is.

This hard drive is well worth the price and offers a good amount of storage. I have two in my build so I have more storage than I know what to do with. The price was really good also.

Works perfectly for offline storage as my older backup drive was full. 5 bucks more than one half it's size and fast enough for the use I put it to.

This is a very good hard drive. Good price for the capacity of the drive. No problems with the first format of the drive. With the capacity of this drive I am able to easily Map/mirror the entire capacity of my Home Server drive, including all picture, music, and video files.

It works great as a storage device. It is the best budget HHD drive you can get for your video and document files. As a second drive, I don't really worry about the reading and writing speed.

Just what I needed. My laptop was bogged down with to many files and pictures. I transfered allmmy pictures to my new drive, freeing up space on my laptop and getting speed back

Added this to my son's gaming computer as a way to store the really large game installs, and not fill up the boot SSD. It works great. He hasn't had any issues with games performance, etc.

I would recommend purchasing WD 2 TB mainstream drive. It's easy to install, and performance is good. I've benchmarked the drive after installing it, and performance is just as good as my WD Black 1 TB drive. I considered buying 3 TB drive, but decided to buy 2 2 TB drives instead.

Works great! Last component I needed to rebuild my computer, got it booted up no problem!

Great value for a great product, easy to install and great amount of storage

This would be my second purchase of a 2 TB HDD from buying one in general and I am impressed with these bigger drives. I mainly use it to store virtual machines and The Sims3 install game data, etc. It works and I trust Western Digital (WD) over Seagate anyday

I purchased 3 of these drives for use in a file server. The drives are setup in a RAID5 configuration. The performance is amazing and for the price they are cheap storage. I will be purchasing 5 more to fill up the server.

This by far was and is one of the best purchases I've made. I am able to back up my system, music, and photographs. I implore all who read this to do so so you will not lose and important information stored in your system.

I had some older 2TB drives for my raid that needing replacement. The replacements are working solid. Good backup storage for documents, images, and other files. Also to retain my history files for restores. Was easy to add them to my storage pool.

Bought this item on sale for cheaper than the 1TB version and it works fantastic. Had for a little over a month and no complaints so far.
