I bought this item for my friend and he loved it. It has a okay speed to it.

Worked fine right out of the box. It would have been nice if they had told me it needed to be formatted before I used it but customer support was great and it was up and running in no time.

Overall decent hard drive. The description on Bestbuy website is inaccurate, it says 64MB cache size. But I looked the model number up after I installed it, it’s the 256 MB cache model. It also uses SMR recording technique. Realistically, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad hard drive. 2TB at this price point is decent. Just keep it in mind, if the drive lost power during writing, all data in the the whole active cluster is lost. This is unfortunately how SMR hard drive works, it’s more likely to cause data corruption when encounter unexpected shutdowns.

For most users this is the perfect size of drive for gamers and video heavy users you might want a bigger size
