My son's hard drive died so I bought this one to replace it. The dead one was also Western Digital with a rather shocking eight years of heavy service. I have high expectations for this drive. Overall so far, the performance has met my expectations.

I have a Windows 8.1 Computer. One it it just froze. Nothing worked. I tried ctl, alt, delete, pulling plugs, reboots - nothing. I was told my hard drive died. I now have a beautiful Windows 10 which is significantly faster and cleaner.

Once I got my computer to recognize the new drive, it was easy to use. I have it installed externally using a USB adapter and I use it to store large video files. It works flawlessly and I couldn’t be happier. Maybe I’ll get a 4TB drive next to store all my digital photos.

It held upnto the cloning process amd works great in the tower i put it in.

This hard drive is very good, I bought them for a TrueNas server and haven't had a problem yet. The read write speeds are really good for the RPM of these. Also I bought these for $45 for 2TB so cant complain about price either

Was easy to install and setup. Its quiet and fast. Just what I needed.

My hard drive crashed and bought this as a replacement back in July of 2014. So far so good. Swapped out the drive, re-installed operating system from back up DVDs' and my computer was up and running quickly. Basically plug and play. Hopefully this one will outlast my HP original, which lasted only long enough for it to be a few weeks out of warranty.

To clear up some of Best Buy's confusing naming scheme, these are Western Digital Green hard drives. I'm not sure why they renamed them as "performance", etc but the label on the hard drive itself shows it's a green. I'm using this in a Synology NAS so I wish I had known it was a Green but it seems to be working well. The price was right for the amount of space.

I was in the process of purchasing a new storage array, and I needed to purchase a bunch of drives to put into the array and I found these drives for a really great price at Best Buy. Last set of drives are over 11 years old, and I'm hoping to get at least 11 years on these drives as well.

Pretty happy with this purchase. The hard drive in my moms HP touch screen desktop went out. This was easy to install and it works like a charm. Price was good too!

Easily installed and great hard drive for the price.

This has been a great deal for saving all of our photos. We had a hard drive crash and with a lot of luck and the help of a friend we were able to retrieve our photo. That woke us up so we decided we need a back system to insure we never loose the photos of our grandchildren and or our vacations.

My hard drive failed. And I thought it only happened to other people. It was no problem at all swapping out hard drives, and what the heck, install Windows 10 since it's free. I was up and running in a couple of hours. I felt it was a good price for 2 TBs. And man, am I glad I bought those external hard drives a while ago from Best Buy!

a easy upgrade and great price. replaced a 1tb hard drive.

Using for backup drive. Installation was easy and it worked out of the box - both of which I would have expected. Was lead to believe that the drive was higher performance, but it is a rebranded WD green drive. As it's a backup drive, I'm less concerned than if it were my primary drive.

This hard drive was purchased to replace a Seagate HD in my Seagate NAS. Installed and work great. The drive is quiet and it doesn't seem slower even though it is a 5400 RPM drive vs the 7200 RPM drive that it replaced since the choke point would be the network connection. I would recommend this drive for any NAS solution.

Back in the day is was all about Seagate and avoid Western Digital. But over the last several years Western Digital has picked up their game and they make good solid drives. Seagate has gone to crap. I've actually purchased this item a few times and am very happy with the performance and life span.
