Well it was only about another $20 between the 1TB that I needed as a replacement backup drive and the 2TB they had in stock. Didn't really want to drive to another store or wait for delivery. But it does what it should quickly and quietly.

the real proof will be how many years this lasts. it was easy to install and works well so far.

So far, the replacement of a 2T harddrive for an aging 1T original HP harddrive is working satisfactory.

The hard drive works fine but I was hoping to see a faster access. I may go to a solid state drive the next time. But the standard hard drive is much less expensive so it is still a good choice.

I tend to prefer WD hard drives... this one, like the rest of them, was easy to install... completely painless

Western Digital drives remain some of the best HDDs out there. This new Black drive has much faster read speed and very respectable write speed compared to other 7200rpm SATA drives I have used thus far. I also noticed that when I booted to win7 from it (I loaded a backup boot partition in case my SSD failed) the speed was impressive. No, not nearly as fast as my SSD but much faster than my backup WDSE and WDRed NAS drives which are also 7200RPM SATA3. I've had Seagate 7200 RPM SATA3 drives which are unreliable.

I have a hard time with having free space on my laptop and this hard drive has made it easier for me to store my important information.

Would have given this 5 stars...except for the following: 1) The drive is really their former "green" drives. Performance wise, it's just ok. There are other faster (7200 revs) brands for the same price. 2) Acronis cloning software and instructions are not accurate. If you're not tech savvy, you'll get frustrated and not get it to clone as the instructions stated. Simply placing the drive in your machine and using the software to clone it does not work! You need to remove the drive and place it in an external enclosure, then connect and boot using the Acronis bootable disk you have to create. Otherwise, the cloning process fails after wasting a ton of time! Almost could give this 3 stars just because of the software!

Works as expected, can't give a true rating until I see how long it takes to fail and if there are any warning signs.

I bought this while making my girlfriends new pc and it worked right away after plugging it in with no issues.

This has been a great hard drive. My games open fast and run quick on it.

Purchased this with little knowledge of computer hardware and it was super easy to install.
