I lost a storage drive for my photos and needed to replace it. I purchased a WD drive because I have had great success with their products and they are reliable. Well this one is another home run. Works great, easy to install, fast and reliable.

Great if you need some extra storage space. WD is one of the top 3 or 4 HDD manufacturers, and I have never had a WD drive fail on me in the 8 or so years I have been using them, and this drive is no exception. As a general rule of thumb (that this HDD follows as well) This is great for storing slower paced single player games, but if you're interested in storing some fast paced multi player games that you want to load quickly, it would be better to go for a WD black drive or an SSD.

I've always trusted WD when it comes to storage and performance. I was running out of space in my desktops HDD so decided to pick this one up for extra space. Works great and easy to install. Should last me quite a while.

Had another brand drive fail after two years. So needed a replacement. Been using WD brand many years. I still have a 205BA in service every day. So this was a no brainier. Love having all the space. Very good price from BB.

Quiet, fast, and reliable. Part of my main desktop with 3 additional drives. No heat problems and rock solid enough to rotate to boot drive position.

Bought this for a Batocera install on an old machine. Easy to set up and load. Excellent price for the amount of space you get. My only complaint is that it did not come with extra mounting wheels, but the concern here is minimal. Will buy again when I start working on my next retro build.

WD drives prices are usually lower in price than competitions and You get more drive capacity compared to others at the same price. And again they are pretty reliable. Am currently using the 2TB WD20EZRZ SATA/64MB Cache

On sale, this was a good byte-to-cost buy. At 2 terabytes, recognized without a problem in Windows 7 with a legacy bios (not a UEFI). Reasonably quiet and fast read/write with 6 GB connection, despite 5400 RPM spin speed. Not thrilled with the included WD backup software as the it only installs on Windows drive and I like to keep mine (an SSD) small. Probably a backup safety feature but I like choosing where I install programs. For backup, I use SyncBack Pro anyway as I like control over syncing files and find full, differential, and incremental backups messy. But for most users, I would imagine the WD software is fine. Spacious and easy to install, with the WD name, this is a good choice.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I always have tons of files that I don't need fast storage for, whether it's my downloads folder or old games I haven't played in years. No use buying an SSD when a WD blue will do.

Picked this up as an internal backup drive for our desktop computer. As a backup, it works great. Plenty of room for our needs and extremely easy to install. As far as I know, this is a 5400rpm drive so I wouldn't recommend it as as OS boot drive, but using it as a backup or extra storage drive works out great.

I bought 2 of these, this seems to be a pattern for me. I tend to replace both drives in my server at the same time. This allows me to know my data is secure. This is the low end drive. As I was standing there looking at my choices 2 different store reps asked what I was going to do with them. As soon as I said I was putting them in a server that would be on 24/7 they both, independently, told me I should get this drive. Lower heat, less head parking, and overall longer life. Since speed was not an issue, this drive was the way to go. So far they have been perfect.

Purchased to replace a failing drive. Price was good for the capacity. So far the drive is working well. Hopefully it will last for a while. Last one worked for 3 years.

I purchased the 2TB model and it performs just as well as I thought it would. While it's only 5400 RPM, this 3-platter drive is almost 50% faster than the 2-platter 620GB 7200RPM drive that came with my computer due to the greatly increased capacity per platter (1TB @ 5400RPM > 320GB @ 7200RPM), so I'm very happy. This drive is a great value and, if speed is what you're after, pick up an SSD for your OS and applications, and put your user profile on a drive like this one (set up a junction point if you're a Windows user). All in all, it's a good purchase for the right purpose.
