Gret drive and price!

Replaced a WD drive that failed after about 1 year (reason for the 3 stars). Now...that's another issue. Drives should not fail that quickly. For the most part, they do last longer on most of my devices.

Works but slow

I really wanted the black version (7200 rpm) instead of this blue version (5400 rpm); but Best Buy does not carry it in their store and I needed it ASAP. It is noticeably slower - very much slower.

5400 rpm disks

Okay Hard Drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Western Digital hard drive, brought it home and started to transfer my video footage to it and found out that it just stopped in the middle of the process. I tried it a couple more times and it failed again. I took it back to BB and exchanged it for another drive. It seemed fine but then it started to fail at random times again. Ugh. This will be going back again. I have bought many drives and this is the first time I have ever had a major issue. I have had good luck with Seagate in the past. Western Digital doesn’t seem as reliable.

The Black version costs twice as much but it comes with a longer warranty and the price will be worth it if it lasts twice as long and protects by files.
