Hard drive had hardware needed and worked as expected.

Very nice value a great way to expand my hard drive space

I bought this drive to replace a crashed HDD of another brand. I was not impressed at all with the performance of this drive. I admit I should have done more research, but the local Best Buy only had 2 brands to choose from at this capacity and since the other drive failed within a year, I thought I would give this one a try. If Best Buy is going to stock this brand of drive, they should look at the color coding and provide options for higher performance drives.

My new Western Digital hard drive has performed flawlessly. It was easy to hook up to my back-up drive and download my archive files.

The HD is ok. It is loud and clunky. But it has withstood about 15 reformatting sessions and is in a pretty hostile environment. I would recommend it if you are on a budget. If you are looking for performance think about a SSD

Just an average HDD. Not much else to say, although the performance of this particular 5400rpm drive seems lower than other 5400rpm drives in its price-range.

The Hard Drive was easy to install and setup. And is as advertised

My original hard drive of 7 years was starting to fail. Bought the new hard drive and did a total restore of programs. Tale new drive had a total failure in five weeks. Went with a 2TB Seagate for replacement as a WD 2TB was not available on short notice. Reinstall took a little longer this time, because backup was 5 weeks old and 2 major windows 10 updates. Oh well this is the life of hard drive. I will contact WD to see if it is a warranty item.

I purchased for DVR but the first had an error within 24 hours. So far the 2nd one has been doing well but I would not use again

Probably deserve better rating but I could not get my computer to recognize this hard-drive exchanged for 1tb and all is good

Kinda difficult to figure out how to make sure it’s showing the storage on the device but once you figure it out you’re good

Basic HDD. Worked ok for what I needed in a pinch. Really wish a 4TB WD HDD would have been in stock, but, when you need an immediate HDD to do an emergency back up, you get what you get.

Got correct product. Installed and worked well. The only thing I did not like it did not come with the mount bracket

For years I had avoided WD hard drives because I have seen significantly more DEAD WD drives than any other brand. They had proven to be unreliable in my experience, and in others. But I figured they must have improved their manufacturing by now, so I took a chance to see if it was better. NOPE!!! The drive is dead on arrival. The first machine would report no drive present, and if you powered off, unplugged and replugged it, the drive would suddenly appear in the system setup. I tried a MSWin10 install, and it hung for a long time trying to partition the disk, never actually being able to partition it. This was a replacement for a working drive in taht machine. Tried in a second system, also functional. Onve again, MSWin10's installer just outright reported it couldn't work with the drive (reported as an i/o device error). As these machines work perfectly fine with OTHER disks, it is obvious it's defective, which means Western Digital's "quality" control has gotten worse than ever. And since BBuy can't be bothered to carry any other HDD brand, I won't be buying any more from them.

This hard drive is so fast perfect for gaming need

this hard drive is the 2nd one in the last 2 years that I have had to replace. So far it has been doing everything that I expected. However, stay tuned.
