Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ample storage, strong performance, and ease of installation as significant advantages of the Blue 2TB PC Internal Hard Drive. The drive's affordability is also frequently praised. A small number of users noted the lack of an included SATA cable and some difficulties with the included cloning software.

Put 2 of these in and mirrored them. Have seen a lot of people lose info with drive crashes lately. Just and extra backup.

Got it on sale. Had it for at least 1 year no issues. No air conditioning in room so computer more likely to break than hd.

This is a WD Green Drive. Excellent for external use because they run so cool. My favorite choice for storing movies.

I have 2 of these and use them for storage in hdd enclosures.I only use WD hard drives. These are not suitable for system hard drives because they only run at 5400 rpm.You need the one that runs at 7200 rpm, which is available Best Buy in the store.

I have yet to be disappointed by any of the dozens of WD products I have purchased over the last 20+ years. This product is no exception.

If you need a hard drive, WD is high quality. I have been an WD fan for a while now.

    Misleading new packaging

When I went to the store I specifically told the guy that I did not want WD Green HDD. I've had terrible experience with the WD Green drives in the past. He assured me this is a new product that behaves much like WD Black (very good high performance drive). But when I opened package, they didn't even change the sticker on the drive. It read "WD Green WD20EZRX". They are just changing the packaging and marketing the same awful WD Green drives under different name. My experience with multiple WD Green drives in past: Pro: High-capacity drives that hold about 1TB of my data. Con: High-capacity drives that held about 1TB of my data. Each one of them died. I'm going to return my drive in the morning. Buy WD Black or Seagate Barracuda

    It's a Green 5400 drive

Inside the box is a WD Green 5400 drive. All WD is doing is repackaging the cheap slow Green drives into "Mainstream" packaging. Try to find the rotation speed on WD or anywhere else - they don't give it, most likely because it is just 5400 and no one would buy such a drive in the second decade of the 21st century.

    Dead on arrival

I wish I could say something about this drive, but it came dead on arrival as a brand new drive. Wouldn't show up on my PC whether I used my external SATA to USB or putting it I within my internal drive bay and using the SATA connection. Extremely upset as I needed storage last minute and now I'm forced to make a second trip back to the store. Definitely not getting another one of these drives as I'm not risking getting another dead drive.

    Misleading information on website

This drive is not 7200 rpm, its 5400 rpm. I'm sure its a fine 5400 rpm hard drive, but the online description is misleading. I just returned it and replaced it with a WD Black drive, which is in fact 7200 rpm.

Ran this drive as my back up drive. Drive quit and wouldn’t respond after 18 months of use. Was glad that it was only my back up drive. Will not get another WD drive

    Never Again!

About a month after the warranty expired I noticed the unit was noisier than before. I ran some diagnostic software against it and it failed on the long generic test before even 2% of the test completed. Although the drive still seems to work, I won't take a chance with it. The disk was used in an HP-x310 Data Vault.
