Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ample storage and satisfactory performance of the Blue 2TB PC Internal Hard Drive, as well as its ease of use and reasonable price. Many find the installation process seamless and appreciate the drive's quiet operation. However, some customers have noted that a SATA cable is not included, and a few have experienced issues with the provided cloning software.

Needed a simple storage drive and this is exactly that. I didn't care about speed, but this is still a good drive regardless. I just wanted the storage space at a great price!

This drive is still operating really well over 2 years later. I upgraded a security system with this storage drive. It has been the perfect drive and decision for the reason it was bought for. The drive still reads and writes, and should have a few more years left in it. It enabled me to have up to 5 days worth of surveillance videos available before purging old recordings. This is on 5 cameras, at 1080p, configured to start recording 24/7 upon motion activity.

Purchased to use as a replacement data drive for a system with an SSD as the primary drive. No issues installing. it did come with 4 mounting screws, which I find ironic, since it does NOT provide the SATA interface cable. For those who may be asking, this model did come with the Acronis cloning software.

Was looking for WD Black but settled for this one, price was too good to pass, this is a replacement for my No 2 drive which is for music and photos .was running out of space. noticed some sluggish performance while editing raw photos, able to resolve it by reinstalling the software, still scratching my head about that, so far it is working better than the first time...anyways I would recommend it, for price and capacity, speed is fine for a 5400 rpm drive...

Always good to have a trusty & proven a HDD to backup your SSD. Also helps to save room on your SSD with picture & video storage. The proven track record of HDD will always make you sleep well at night (my first HDD lasted 7 years under heavy use).

I installed this hard drive when I had a strange feeling that my very old storage drive was on the fritz. Just as easy to install as any other hard drive. Since then I've moved my files over and had no issues with it. Hopefully it keeps spinning for years to come, holding my 100s of gigs of photos.

Model number on box doesn't match drive...

Could be my fault, could be manufacturer error or anyone's error really. I was in the store looking at hard drives, because i am upgrading boot drives in our gaming rigs and one of our computers has a hard drive from like 2013-2015 thats only roughly 1 tb, The model number on the box doesn't match the hard drive so in the store when I searched it up before purchasing I was under the impression it was 7200 RPM's, until I opened the drive at home about to install it realizing it was a different model number with no rpm indication on the drive itself, I looked up the second model number and found it was only 5400 rpm - I had to order another drive elsewhere for my initial intended use, but since it was on sale and it would cost over half of what was spent on the item in gas to return, Opened but haven't used yet, most likely i'll put it in another computer as a 3rd hard drive.

My brother's PC needed a new hard drive for his upgrade to window 10 as he desired to save the information from his older windows 7 hard drive. Not only was the new WE hard drive superior to his older hard drive in capacity but it had increased speed with data. He is totally satisfied with the new hard drive.

I purchased this hard drive as a replacement for a pair of 500 GB Seagate drives that were failing. It runs a bit warmer than the old drives but is faster and is very quiet. Replacing those two old hard drives with this one also saves a bit of power and reduced the heat inside the case. Nice drive for the price.

2TB for $50. That's all that needs to be said. The amount of value that this product has for the price is so high that I have purchased two of them. They're perfect for storing games (especially as game sizes have swelled to hundreds of gigabytes over the past few years) and other media like videos and movies. I would NOT recommend installing your operating system (e.g. Windows, Linux) on this or any other hard disk drive. Instead, you should purchase a solid state drive (SSD) for that purpose.

WD makes good drives. Yes any man made electronic product can smoke one day. However WD has a good history which is why they have been around this long. I had to build a new server for someone. They had 2 new Western Digital 2TB drives in the equipment they provided. I needed an additional drive for a RAID 5 setup. Went to BB and they had the exact same drive. To be able to get a drive for less than $100 and create a RAID 5 storage for a PC or server. Fantastic!

Quiet Drive Replacement For Ext FW

I had been waiting for the 2TB class of drives to drop in price a bit. I have an older WD Studio external FW drive that came with 750GB (which was large when I purchased the external in 2008). I picked up this WD 2TB to replace the still running 750. Installation was easy and the new 2TB is humming along. The drive's warranty is pretty standard at two years, but I'm hopeful it will keep running as long as the prior 750GB did, 6 years of intermittent use. Throughput is limited by the FW800 interface. I've had no issues with speed nor drive disconnects. This external case is hanging off a 2011 Mac Mini. Drive has three partitions, one of which is a boot partition I've been using for testing Yosemite. Overall, I'm happy with the drive, and the price from BB. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking for reasonable performance in a 3.5 SATA drive.
