This WD drive is an inexpensive way to get 2 TB of storage for your laptop or small form factor computer. It also works well in Synology NAS devices that use 2.5 form factor SATA drive.

Loud, slow, and only worked for one month...

Decided to upgrade my OE HDD (Hitachi) on the PlayStation 4 Pro to get some more storage space. This drive worked good for about a month; but then it started having issues. First off, the drive was rather noisy, which didn't seem right, that was my first clue something was going wrong. Next, it would start to freeze in loading screens. After about two weeks of those two issues, the drive started making horrible scratching sounds; which told me that something was wrong with it. I returned it for a full refund and bought a Toshiba HDD instead with the exact same read/write speed and storage, and it's silent and extremely fast (and was half the price.) The new Toshiba HDD made me realize how sluggish and noisy this WD was. I don't feel that all WD HDD's are this way, as I've used them for years with no issues. I think I just received a lemon. But for the price of this drive, I was pretty disappointed.

Did not want to wait a week for the Seagate FireCuda 2TB SSHD. This replaced the original SATA II hard drive that Sony put in the PS4 Pro 1TB. Everything is working as intended and I've noticed a slight increase in load times.

I purchased this item after reading reviews that it would be a great way to upgrade the storage for my PS4. After a relatively easy exchange for my stock HD, my PS4 was never able to recognize the drive and kept giving me an error message (error CE-34697-9) during the reformatting and initialization process, which after review online, is associated with faulty drives. My PS4 was unable to boot until re-inserting my original drive and reformatting it and going through the initialization process again.
