So I game a lot and notice as technology advance gaming storage is req. I used to just have a 1tb hd and it filled up . now I have extra storage and maybe in a couple years may need another . But this is pretty fast for transfer of documents and songs . Gaming is fine but to transfer is kinda slow . Great storage though

I have installed WD drives in a dozen home-built PCs (including a 3-disc RAID-5 in each) and I also built a networked "Synology DS918+" with four WD 6TB NAS drives. The only time I have replaced a Western Digital drive is to increase capacity.

Hard Drive Upgrade For TiVo. When my hard drive failed in my TiVo Bolt+ I replaced it with WD - Mainstream 3TB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive and it installed and allowed the TiVo to configure it boot up with no issues.

It has plenty of room, is quiet, works well and has a good warranty.

hi, letting you know this 3TB HD works as intended. this is not aimed at gamers per say cause it is a 5400rpm. Its what they had in stock on the shelf and it is working great. And I am a gamer :)

Best buy price matched this item and I received it earlier than the est. delivery date. So far so good haven't had any trouble. Great Product

Bought this to expand my DROBO PRO for a total of 26 TB, if this works out I may swap my 1tb drive that is in there for another one of these, the points I've gained from best buy rewards helped me only end up paying the tax on the hard drive, so no complaints so far, I just hope it out lasts the warranty.

Great drive. Have multiple WD drives with no problems. Constantly writing an reading data off of it with no problems. Going to pick up a few more

I bought it because it was a good price for the size. I knew that on 32bit system I would not see all 3TB, so I installed the 64 bit W7 and still did not showed me more than 2TB. I checked the web and found out that it might be because the motherboard (my system is about 5 year old). I expected the guys at Best Buy to tell me about this before I bought it. That is the reason I gave only 4 stars. I returned it for a full refund.

Pro: good price, came with retail package so its nice sealed and protected. Con: Although this socalled mainstream HD is identical to WD blue drive, I did not expect it really IS a blue drive. Exact the blue drive box with out any "mainstream" icon on it. Because it is a blue, so its rotary speed is 5400rpm on the slow side. Sometimes I can hear clicking sound when its working.

Great for my ps4 upgrade and is adaptable. Still do like that its huge and bulky instead of slim for my console but it works regardless

Easy to add to my existing computer and worth the price

Used for a storage in my DVR. Constantly saving files and erasing files and have not had a single issue yet. The drive is reliable and give me plenty of storage on my DVR.

I had an emergency and tryed out this HDD. It will be good that stores carry the same ones but with more speed.
