This is just a standard laptop harddrive for those older laptops that don't use an m.2 slot or don't benefit from the use of an SSD. They're reliable and affordable. I purchased this to replace a failing hard drive in my mother's laptop and it worked perfectly fine. I've used many Western Digital HDDs in the past and have never had an issue. If you need a mechanical drive, this will serve you well. I will also say I've never had an issue with Seagate drives either, so just go with whatever your instinct tells you. I needed this drive the same day and this is what my BestBuy had available. I expect it to last to the laptop's end of life.

This is a great drive. I currently use this for data storage and system back up.The site reports it as an error though and not that the serial number is invalid. I've already owned this for about 3 weeks and it works fine this is a great hard drive, plenty of room for movies, music, and whatever else you plan on using it for.

My laptop hard disk finally failed. I purchased this at the local Best Buy store and works exactly as expected. Had no issues with getting my laptop back up on the new hard drive.
