    The new hd created as replacement hd are physically "thinner" than the original hd which dell shipped as part of the laptop. I contacted the shipper...tlhey did give me similar action to see if the hd would work...by placing a couple of credit card size spacers to make up for the new "thinner" model. Dave m.
