    I replaced a five year old hard drive that failed. It was easy to install, was exactly the same size as the one it replaced, and had a much greater capacity.

    I got the cheapest name brand 1/2 TB drive in the store to put in an old laptop that was depreciated at the office. It works fine - I dual-boot into Linux and Windows 10. But it spends a fair amount of time accessing the disk. Great value, works well, but not for a super fast gaming rig or something.

    Took my laptop to geek squad and they immediately got to work. All I needed was this drive and I was good to go. I haven't had any problems since with my computer.

    I used this hard drive to replace the burnt out one on my old fat Playstation 3 (PS3). It plugged in perfectly and worked exactly as it should!

    It's not very spacious. It's not particularly fast. But, it does what it's supposed to do. I replaced a failed drive in a laptop with this one, reinstalled the OS, and now everything is working fine. If I knew for certain it would last a long time, then I'd give it 5 stars.

    I needed to replace the hard drive in an ASUS laptop. I had a Seagate drive handy and tried it in the system. Since the drive is located just below the keyboard, the Seagate caused the keyboard to flex. This drive is just enough thinner that it fit correctly. Not surprising since a WD drive was what was there originally.

    If you're just looking for a cheap hard drive to get a laptop back up, this is fine. However, if you want a hard drive to speed up your laptop, get a SSD.

    If your old laptop is running slow it can be the hard drive the laptop came with is over worked. They installing this new hard drive and do a new install OS and I'm sure your laptop will run like new.
